All because of a cup of coffee

You sighed to yourself as you wiped down another counter. It had been a busy day working in your family's bakery in Suna. Everyone in the that village always seemed to be hungry.

You weren't at all in the mood to work that day. It got on your nerves when people asked you for napkins, when they were right there, in reaching distance, or when people made fancy, elaborate coffee orders.

But all of your anger and annoyance dissipated as the most handsome man walked in. The Kazekage. As he walked in, the people of chaotic bakery seemed to part like the Red Sea.

"Move out of the way!"
"That's the Kazekage, have some respect!"
"Let him through!"

The other patrons made a respectful attempt at letting him get by without trouble.

The Kazekage wasn't wearing his robes. He wore a simple red shirt with fishnet sleeves underneath and black pants. You felt your heart beat in anticipation as he approached the counter.

"Hello..." He said in a deep whisper. Your heart almost beat out of your chest. You may have had a teensy little crush on the Kazekage, but you had never actually been this close to him. And now he was at your family's business!

"Lord Kazekage!" You smiled.

"Oh, there's no need to be so formal." He also flashed a small smile. "Call me Gaara."

"Of course Gaara-sama!"

He gave another smile. God, he was adorable. "What's your name?" He asked.

"(Y/n) (L/n)," you stated, pointing to your last name on one of the cups stocked behind the counter. It was the business name obviously.

"Ah, I see. Nice to meet you, (y/n)." He smiled, extending his hand.

You wanted so badly to shake his hand, but yours was sticky with coffee and cleaning solution.

"Don't leave me hanging," he gave a closed eye smile.

You didn't want to be disrespectful so you shook his hand firmly, keeping eye contact the whole time. You wanted to be memorable, not some pushover who couldn't even look him in the eye.

He seemed to notice what was on your hand, but said nothing. You noticed he wiped his hand on his pants before saying, "Can I get a chocolate chip muffin and a latte to go?"

"Of course, right away!" You nodded eagerly, getting to work on his drink.

After you made his latte, you grabbed a fresh muffin and put it in a paper bag for him.

"Thank you very much, (y/n)." He smiled.

"No problem, Gaara-sama!" You exclaimed.

He turned to leave, but before he did, he picked up the pen sitting on the counter and scribbled something on a napkin before handing it to you.

"Come by the Kazekage office later and tell Baki I sent you," was all he said before walking out.

You looked at the napkin, blushing as you read what he wrote.

You're cute. Let's talk soon?
