Festivals and Fatigue

(Y/n) pouted as Sasuke once again gave her a firm no.

"Please?! Sasuke, come on, it'll be fun! And you never go anywhere," She begged.

She was trying to convince him to go to a local festival with her. There would be food, games, and plenty of other things to do.

Sasuke rolled his eyes and sighed. "(Y/n)..."

"Sasuke...?" She replied with wide eyes. "Come on, it's 5 p.m. and you've been in pajamas all day. Please, baby?"

"You're not going to leave me alone until I say yes, are you?" He groaned.

"...yes." She smiled sheepishly.

Her cute expression made him melt, but he kept a straight face. He slumped his shoulders and sighed. Of course he was going to say yes. He loved her more than anything, that's why he married her. But sometimes he just had a hard time adequately expressing his feelings.

"Pretty please? Pretty please with a cherry on top?" She asked again.

"Fine," He agreed, pretending to be annoyed.

(Y/n) let out a squeal of excitement. "Yay!! Get dressed and we'll go!" She began tugging on his arm to get him out of the chair he was sitting in.

He feigned reluctance as he stood up.

"Come on, let's go get you out of those pajamas," (Y/n) said, leading him to their bedroom.

Sasuke sat down on the bed and lifted his arms up so (Y/n) could easily take his shirt off. She slipped it off over his head, tossed it in the dirty clothes hamper, and looked through his clothes in the closet. She found a shirt and held it up on the hanger in front of him and squinted her eyes so it looked like he was wearing it.

A smile spread over her face as she approached him with the shirt. Sasuke lifted his arms over his head in anticipation.

(Y/n) let out a laugh. "Oh, don't tell me I have to put it on for you too. I didn't realize Sasuke Uchiha was such a big baby," She giggled.

His face slightly burned with embarrassment as he grabbed the shirt from her and put it on.

"It's okay, honey, I was only joking. I would've put it on for you," (Y/n) cooed with a gentle laugh.

That only caused him to blush more fervently. Sasuke would probably never admit it, but he loved when she called him pet names like that, yet he could never being himself to call her a pet name. He only ever called her (Y/n). He liked it so much that he felt like it was its own pet name.

"Do you want me to put your pants on for you as well?" She asked, pulling him out of his thoughts.

"Hm? Oh no, that's okay. I'll do it, (Y/n)."

"Okay, I'll wait in the living room."

Sasuke quickly changed out of his pajama pants and into the pants his wife picked out for him. He also put on his shoes and a jacket before going back to the living room where
(Y/n) was.

"Ready to go?" She beamed.

He nodded and held his hand out for her to take. (Y/n) became giddy as they neared the festival in the heart of Konoha. Sasuke fought a smile as he looked down at her. She was always so happy and easily excited, and it oftentimes made him feel the same.

She only became more eager when they actually arrived.

"Look!! Sasuke, they have balloon animals," She said happily, pulling him in the direction of where they were being sold. "Can we get one? Please?!"

A small smile played on his lips, "Sure, get whatever you want."

"Hi, what kind of animal can I make for you?" The balloon artist greeted the young couple.

(Y/n) furrowed her brows and gently bit her bottom lip in thought, a cute habit she had adopted years ago. "Ooooh! Could you make a giraffe, if at all possible?"

The artist nodded. "Of course! What color?"

"Hmm...blue," She said, knowing it was Sasuke's favorite color.

Within forty-five seconds, the balloon was done, and (Y/n) was happy. Sasuke paid for it and the continued to look through the festival.

"Isn't it just adorable, baby?" (Y/n) beamed, looking at it with the biggest smile on her face.

You're adorable, Sasuke thought to himself. Instead he nodded and gave a quiet, "Yeah."

"Oooh!! Dango! Can we get some?" She squealed with excitement.

"Of course."

As they ate their sweet treat, they saw a some of their friends; Naruto, Sakura, Hinata, Shikamaru, Ino, and Kakashi.

"Hey, (Y/n), Sasuke." Naruto smiled as he greeted the couple.

"Hi!" (Y/n) said, swallowing a mouthful of dango.

Sasuke merely gave a nod of acknowledgement. He wasn't the most social person.

"What are you guys up to?" Kakashi asked.

He was their old Sensei, and a big reason for them being where they were today.

"Oh, not much, Sensei! We just got here. What about you all?" (Y/n) asked.

"Yeah, same here," Hinata spoke softly.

"Hmm, do you want to walk around with us?" Naruto suggested.

(Y/n) looked to Sasuke who didn't react.

He probably doesn't want to, she sighed to herself.

"No, it's okay-"

"Sure, why not?" Sasuke interrupted, catching his wife by surprise.

So they all walked around the festival together, taking pictures, eating food, and having fun. Later in the night, they sat down on some logs surrounding a large bonfire.

(Y/n) put her head on Sasuke's shoulder and yawned. She'd noticed how quiet he had been over the past couple of hours.

"Hey, are you okay?" She frowned, looking up at him.

"Mhmm." He nodded.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course."

She gave him a soft kiss on the lips, which earned a look of surprise from their friends. They were the first of their friend group to be married at the young ages of twenty and twenty-one. Also, Sasuke was never one to show affection in public.

"Be honest, baby," She told him in a pseudo-stern voice, which he thought was the cutest thing ever. Whenever she tried to make herself sound serious, he couldn't help but smile.

"Fine. I would rather be at home right now, just the two of us," He whispered in her ear.

"Aw, Sasuke, if you wanted to go home and cuddle, you could've just told me!!" She whispered with a laugh.

"Cuddle... among other things," He said suggestively.

It took (Y/n) a moment to realize what other things meant, causing her face to flush.

She cleared her throat before telling her friends, "I think we're going to head home. We had fun hanging out with you all!" She smiled.

All of their friends told them goodnight as they walked off hand in hand.

"I'm sorry for making you suffer these past few hours," (Y/n) sheepishly apologized.

"You didn't make me suffer," Sasuke reassured her."Well, maybe just a little bit. But I have a few ideas of how you could make it up to me."
