'I should have known.' That's what she told me. I should have known we wouldn't last.

I was happy, I thought he was too, but I was proven wrong.

They look so happy together, dancing around at this party, THEIR party.

I find it strange how quickly their relationship moved forward, how quickly they fell in love.

She laughs as he spins her around while they were dancing.

What hurts so much is knowing we had no problems, until SHE came along. We were happy, until SHE ruined it.

Though it's not only her fault, he let her come between us. He was the one who broke up with me so he could be with her.

Only three months have passed and yet here I am at THEIR engagement party.

I should have known it would hurt to be here.

I should have known I didn't belong anymore.

Everyone looks so happy, everyone is happy for the couple, all apart from me.

Maybe I didn't belong with them anymore. Maybe I should just leave the Avengers.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Pietro's voice asks me. "I was invited" I reply as I take a sip of the champagne in my hand.

"It must be hard watching them together" Pietro says. I just hum in response.

"You two were together for two years, yet were never engaged, they've been together for three months and now they're going to get married" he says.

"I'm aware of this Pietro" I speak trying to control my anger. "You should have known" Pietro replies with a shrug.

I close my eyes to stop the tears from falling down my face. "I mean they look so happy" Pietro adds. "Yeah."

"You'll find someone one day, just not Steve" Pietro finishes before speeding off.

I gulp down the rest of my drink before turning to the counter. "Can I have another guess" I ask the bartender.

"(Y/n), it's good to see you here" the woman who ruined it all speaks. "Good to see you too Sharon" I lie.

"Doesn't everything look beautiful" she asks. "Truly does" I reply as the bartender hands me a drink.

I start to walk away. "You should have known" she tells me a smirk on her face.

She was right, I should have known.
