Someone suggested I make a Part 2 and gave me a brief idea, which I totally loved (Though I was unsure whether they wanted a Fluff or Angst ending.)

. . . .

Characters Name: Y/N L/N

Plot: How Steve's Decision affects/affected him.

Type: Angst

. . . .

Steve looked at his surroundings and smiled. He was home, back at the time he felt most happy, all he needed was the one who made him feel truly happy.

He went searching for his true love. A smile appeared on his face as he saw her standing there by the bar waiting for him.

Peggy was beautiful, strong, independent, she didn't let anyone make her feel inferior, she stood up for what she believed was right. Peggy Carter was perfect to him and for him.

So why did it feel so wrong? Why didn't he feel happy?

"Steve, are you okay?" a concern Peggy asked.

(Y/N) knew when he wasn't okay, Steve couldn't lie to her, she knew everything about him.

(Y/N) would take him somewhere they could be alone, yet still be doing a fun activity and they'd talk.

One time (Y/N) took him to a mountain range and they climbed up the side of the mountain, while Steve spoke about what was bothering him. Of course the problem was Tony.

Steve looked at Peggy, his eyes widen as he realised he made the biggest mistake of his life.

"What have I done?"

. . . .

It was the year 2020, The Avengers had defeated Thanos, alongside them stood a woman like no other. Steve often tried talking to the woman, but she was cold, never saying more than what was required, what was necessary.

Everyone spoke nothing but positive things about (Y/N). Steve could see the words were true, unfortunately he never had the privilege of her acting like that towards him.

(Y/N) was close to everyone, though she was closer to Natasha more than anyone else. Steve knew if he wanted answers, the best person to talk to was the Black Widow.

Steve waited until (Y/N) was out with Bucky and Sam, it was her turn to play referee, not that she cared, she loved them.

"Natasha, a word." The assassin turned to Steve, her face showing no emotion, despite her curiosity. "Is there a problem?"

Steve struggled to find the right words to express how he felt, though he tried.

"Why does (Y/N) hate me?"

She knew the truth, she was the only one, apart from (Y/N) herself, who knew the truth. (Y/N) once loved Steve, as he did her, but he threw everything away for one day with his old love. She never forgave him and she never could, the wound caused by the betrayal was too deep.

"I'm not sure, the only way to know is to ask her" Natasha replied. She lied and of course being the incredible spy she once was, anyone would believe her, anyone apart from the Avengers.

"You're lying" Steve stated. "Maybe I am, no one knows for sure. If you want answers you have to find out for yourself" she replied before walking away.

After his short conversation with Natasha, he tried talking to (Y/N), but she wouldn't speak with him, she would reply with one word answers before walking away.

He found it infuriating not knowing why she hated him. He found it infuriating as he had fallen in love with her strong, fierce personality. She still protected him when they were on missions, despite the hatred she felt towards him. She cared for him, that was why nothing made sense to him.

Steve decided to clear his head and went running, though he was unsure where he wanted to go. He ran for two hours before stopping.

He looked around at his surroundings, only to find himself in a familiar place. He had no idea why he recognised the cave, nevertheless he gave in to his curiosity and explored the cave.

"Why the-" he stopped as he looked at the pond, one he recognised, though wasn't sure how, or why.

Slowly he walked into the water, he was instantly surrounded by a thick mist.

"Steve Grant Rogers, you came back to the place where your life fell apart" a voice spoke. "Tell me, how does it feel to know everything is your fault?"

"Show yourself!" Steve demanded.

"You wonder why (Y/N) (L/N) despises you, yet I know, I know what you did to cause a woman like her to hold such a strong hatred towards the great Captain America."

"What did I do?" Steve asked. He was desperate for answers, even if he couldn't see the person giving them to him.

"You betrayed her. You picked a day with Peggy over a lifetime with (Y/N)." Steve was concerned, he didn't remember picking Peggy over (Y/N). "I don't understand."

"You came here and I granted your wish. You spent one more day with Peggy and in return you forgot all about (Y/N), while she remembered you. She will never forget your betrayal."

While Steve didn't want to believe the voice, it did make sense. Y/N was happy the first time they met, yet once he asked who she was she grew cold.

"How do I fix it?" Steve asked.

"There is no fixing it. You made your decision, now you must live with it."

. . . .

Alternate Ending (For Fluff lovers. Though I don't like this ending)

The mist around Steve changed to a red colour. "What's happening?" "It's over" a girl's voice spoke.

Steve closed his eyes as he felt the world around him disappear. "It's over" the familiar voice of Wanda told him. He opened his eyes to see he was alone in the room with Wanda.

"Did that help?" Wanda asked. Steve looked at her with a small smile. "Yes, now I know what to do."

He got the small box out of his pocket and smiled. "She loves you Steve and now you know you truly love her, more than you did Peggy."

The vision he saw opened his eyes. He was scared he loved Peggy more than (Y/N), but after the vision he knew (Y/N) was the only woman for him.
