chapter 5
Ashton stirred in his sleep and woke up when his phone started vibrating on the bed next to him. He glanced at the clock by his bed.
9:10 pm.
His mother should be home from work soon. He looked back at his phone, seeing that all the notifications were from Instagram. He sighed quietly and slid the arrow across the screen towards the right and put his passcode in: 0707.
He clicked the Instagram App in the lower left hand corner of his phone and looked at all of his mentions. He already knew what they were going to be, but he looked through them anyways. He just had to see how bad they all were.
On the last picture he posted, which was a picture of him, his sister Lauren and his brother Harry, there was already over 10 comments. All of which was hate, except for one.
"therealdevin: ew, how is it that Ashton got zero looks in the family?"
Ashton sighed, he knew he was ugly, but people didn't have to keep pointing it out all the goddamn time.
"amandaisnotonfire: what a loser, he actually only posts pictures of him and his siblings"
Yeah, because he didn't have any friends to post pictures with and posting selfies as a 17 year old boy was just weird.
"ethanisaboss: oh look! the diary boy has a family!"
See, that shit would spread like wildfire, and boy did it spread already, there were a couple comments about him having a diary.
"cdizzle: everyone, leave him alone. he has done nothing wrong and he doesn't deserve all of your rude ass comments. go away all of you fucking dicks."
Ashton stared at the screen, rereading the last comment, trying to find the hate in it. But he found nothing, it was actually a comment in which someone was standing up for him.
"Holy shit." Ashton muttered, clicking on the account. He scratched his head and looked at what was visible on the account, the profile picture, the bio and the username. Ashton had no idea who this was, and more specifically he had no idea as to why they were being nice to him and sticking up for him.
Then Ashton did the unthinkable, he clicked the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the account and clicked 'send message'.
He typed out a quick message and hit send, regretting it immediately.
