Varanwings

The difference between the male and females are pretty vast in this tribe, the males are almost always bigger and have more plating on their back. They have thick scales, a collection of horns, and have a spiky ball at the end of their tails. The males have two types of horns, the usual sharp and straight, and the thicker curved. The later is a lot more rarer, and are on a usually much larger/powerful males. (Meaning males with these horns are usually king)
The females lack all these qualities and have much shorter horns and back spikes, no balled tail, less thick scales, and a lot less plating. They are usually much smaller.
Their coloring varries between muted green and shades of brown, and is usually speckled. Horns and talons are very dark, their eyes are usually brighter, and the wings paler.

They live (on another continent) in a "lush mesa" area which is mostly rocks and platues, but does have a forest at the very bottom.
In the opposite fashion of the NightKingdom, the higher your housing is in the mesa the more lowborn you are.
The palace and several curved horn males are located in the forest. The palace doesn't look as large as most, but most of it is carved into the mesa side and out of sight.
A large river does run by it.

They are mainly carnivores, but most Veranwings will eat whatever they can find which is usually animals such as bats, weasels, coyotes, and raccoons.
The palace dwellers however will eat only the top meat their hunting parties will bring back, whicha re usually horses, bears, and deer. Fish is also adored.

Personality is another area the male and females usually split apart in.
Most males are pretty loud, aggressive, cocky, sexist, etc.
The females are generally taught to be obedient, respectful, ans quiet.
Of course personality varries to dragon to dragon, but ones who break the standard are usually low born and they'll usally be "taught" to act otherwise by someone sent from the king or are either just shamed by dragons around them.

In their culture they have a king instead of a queen and don't have royal bloodlines. Instead the throne is fought for by anyone that wants it.
These battles happen often, and there's usually a lot of fighting in the streets as well. Sometimes over small things or others such as females.
They are named after any animal found in the mesa, but most commonly reptiles.

Like curved horns, Veranwing females can be born with venomous bites, which can either stun or kill someone, most never realize they have it or our killed early on.
