Danielle woke up cuddling someone, she slowly turned her body over and noticed Conrad had his arm wrapped around her in a protective hold. Her black jacket had been used as a blanket over them. Danielle sat up, as she did Conrad's arm moved. It slid down her body with such dead weight. He looked completely exhausted.
Danielle managed to get up from the ground floor of the rusted boat and moved out outside. It was early, or not. She wasn't sure, she couldn't tell time here.
She stepped fully out of the boat, looking around to see the Iwis people moving around in their village. Hank was even up and moving as well, she sees him at the boat working.
Danielle started to walk over to the boat but paused when she heard the sound of birds flying from the trees.
Danielle glanced at the time traveler as Slivko called Hank, to that direction. Curiosity got the better of her. Danielle doubled checked if she had her pistol on her, which she did and then headed in that direction.
She passed the villagers and even approached the wall, she noticed some looking at her but minding their business. Danielle hesitated for a moment before making the choice to go outside of the wall.
As Danielle stepped out of the wall, she sees nothing but grasslands for miles as it seems. Then heard a noise. This made her reach for her weapon.
"Shit," She mutters to herself, "Maybe I should have listened to that saying- curiosity kills the cat."
Danielle paused her movement, only to then move once again. She walked onward in her small journey to see what it was that made the noise. She walked into the treeline that was neighboring the wall. That is when she stopped. Pausing behind a tree trunk. She was no far than a good twelve feet or so from the wall.
Danielle sees laying down is a small baby deer like creature, it looks stuck on a root. The animal is crying and kicking to try to free its hoof. Danielle moves a bit, holding one hand on the trunk as she moved to be seen.
"Oh no," Danielle said.
She put her pistol in her waist band, and then slowly walked over to not startle the animal. The baby animal sees Danielle and began to panic more, but Danielle held her hand in front of the animal.
"Shh," She tried to keep a calm expression, "There, there."
Danielle held her hand in front of the animal's nose and gently pet it. The deer seemed to then calm down a bit.
"I'm going to get you out, buddy." She smiles still.
As Danielle pulled up her pant leg to reveal a knife, she heard a howl that did not seem friendly at all. Danielle froze and turned around. Seeing what seemed to be a larger animal there. This animal was probably the size of the water bison that was seen early, however it seemed like a combination of a wolf and a lion.
