The darkness of the sky diluted into a deep blue colour. The air had the smell of a new day but the dawn never came for Bijoy and others waiting for some good news. Asha had been brought to the hospital on time and the blood loss had been severe yet it was managed. Her wounds were tended too. There were multiple fractures in her arm and ribs. The culprit had been caught by the police but no one cared about him until Asha regained consciousness.
Sonakshi was sitting with Samaina and gang. She still had difficulty in figuring out her surroundings. She had had her bouts of vomits. The staff at the hospital looked down at her, like a daughter who never cared for her mother and who could blame them, when she had turned up drunk in the hospital. All her life Sonakshi did the right things to never get her image tainted in the general public's eyes. Alas, when the actual time came people thought what they wanted too!
Dev had left after managing to settle Sona in Sameer's car. He prayed for a speedy recovery, bid goodbyes and left.
When they were granted permission to meet Asha. Bijoy expressed his wish to see her first. Naina wanted to let Sonakshi go first but Swati stopped her. Sonakshi wasn't still in complete hold of her senses and was having a terrible headache.
Bijoy knocked the door of the room Asha had been allotted. It was his old habit to never enter a room where Asha was without knocking.
Asha was expecting Sonakshi. The ex-couple looked at each other in a minute of silence.
"Kaisa lag raha hai ab?" Bijoy initiated the conversation.
"Meri beti kaha hai?" Asha asked him in return.
"Bahar hai." Bijoy couldn't bring himself to tell Asha the truth about Sona's condition. He wanted Sona's upbringing to be one medal in Asha's records.
"Andar kyu nahi aayi? Tumhe pehle usse aane dena chahiye tha."
"Wo andar aane ki halat me nahi hai."
"Matlab?"
"Dard kaisa hai?" Bijoy changed the topic.
"Tumhe pehle meri beti ko andar aane dena chahiye tha." Asha acted as if she hadn't heard his question.
"Wo nahi aayegi. Wo ... Party me usne ... Kuch zyada hi ... She got drunk." Bijoy pursed his lips in anger.
"Ho hi nahi sakta. Sonakshi me koi buri aadat nahi hai. Maine aane hi nahi di." Asha wasn't in best of her physical conditions but she was ready to brag about her upbringing.
