Night Shift

Chapter 5

A COUPLE MONTHS LATER, BROOKE STILL WORKS IN MINNESOTA AND SHE THINKS IT ISN'T SO BAD.

BROOKES POV

It was 6:30 and my shift started at 7. I changed and headed to the locker room. I walked to the nurses station, i looked at the TV.  "Turn it up for me please."

"Most of the military people are heatly and ready to go home, i am so sad to the soldier that did die. This hospitable has had bad traumas over the past year and troubles over the past month, but we are still standing. I hope you are too, you know who." Drew said on the TV

"Hes cute, to bad he works at a hoapitable with army brats. I cant imanige working there."

"Its actullay a nice, place everybody cares, two he has a girlfriend, and army brats are nicer then people sometimes."

"If it was such a good place, why did you leave." On of the nurses asked

"My mom, just died, i was getting sued by my a paitens dad because i was a little mean to him. I was having a bad month, so i came here, try to shield my shelf." I said and beeping came in

"How old." I ask

"14, and she overdosed."

"14." I said

"How long, has she been passed out."

"Just a couple of minutes ago, but she did vomit a lot on the way here." The paramedic said, i was putting an iv in and i seen cuts on her wrist. This was on purpose.

"I need wrap." I said and the nirse gave them to me. I wrapped her wrists and she started to wake up.

"Where am i, why are these on my wrist, my head hurts." She says reallt weak

"You overdose, those bandages are over your cuts, and here is some Tylenol for your headache." I said and her parents walked in her mom one said and the other side her dad. She looked like she was scared of her dad. I let it slid, i walked out, did paperworkand i see Gaby on the news. What the heck are they doing. I grabbed the remote ams turned it up.

"So I'll like to inform the little small town thays seeing this, proably all of them by now. I'll like to say thank you doctor for saving my life and i miss you bestfriend, we all do. Oh and I'm getting my liver. You told me i wasnt ready to die, and i wasnt, so thank you for saving my life and being my best friend." She said, i turned it back down.

"Doctor, something's helping." Her mom says, i walk in there and shes seizing

"Booo a CT scan for me Hannah please." I said holding her down, then she stops

"You can head up now Brooke."

"So, I'm going to take your daughter to a CT scan, to see if somethings wrong, that i didn't see. You may sit in the waiting room, it shouldn't take that long." I said and they said good luck, Hannah and i pushed her up to the elevator then to the CT scan.

"Ok, Molly. Dont move because we only got one shot at this." I said and walked behind the glass.

We pushed her back to her room and Hannah went to get her parents. Her CT scans where coming up. "Doctor, theres this guy down stairs looking for you."

I walked down stairs and i didn't thinl it would be Scott. "Scott."

"Brooke, why you here."

"I work here, but you cant tell the other people at the hospitable. Why you here."

"Do you know where the chief of the night shift is."

"Talking to her." I said

"Really."

"Yeah, they where short doctors here so i jumped in. Why you need to talk to me."

"Doctor Bisping to room 17." Over the intercom

"I'll talk to you later. " i said and i hope he doesnt tell them where i am

"Thanks." I said and i walked to the CT scans

"So here CT scans show a little tear in it. Our nighy shift staff can close it up, but if we dont close it up, the bleeding can get to much and you could die."

"2nd opition." Molly said

"You cant say, your parents say." I said

"1, makes her stay alive and two she dies."

"Yeah."

"We'll do one, please."

"Ok, I'll be back in a little bit to prep you." I said, i walked down stairs and sat at the nurses station. I looked at my watch and it was 5:30am, i was almost done.

"Do you know where the guy i was talking to earlier, went."

"He went to his meeting." I shook my head, i walked back upstairs and preped her for surgery.
