Ruben watched attentively as Bethany led them through the headstones of the site in attempt to reach the vessel. He hadn't noticed them yet, and he wondered if Bethany would just jump the gun and get it over with it as opposed to putting on a show like they previously had.

Bethany looked determined, judging by the way her body appeared, and the swiftness in her steps. He realized how far she had come from her first day of training, and his heart swelled in accomplishment.

Ruben honestly never thought that Bethany would ever get to this point, and now he realized how quickly it was all coming to an end. That soon he would no longer be able to open his eyes every morning and see her pretty face.

Bethany suddenly stopped walking in front of him, and Ruben almost ran into her form from how consumed in his own thoughts he was. He looked around and noticed that the vessel was no longer anywhere to be found.

"I lost him, he just disappeared," Bethany advised and Ruben watched as she clenched her fists in frustration.

"He couldn't have gone far, he does work here." Ruben attempted to lighten her anger, but to an avail. It was clear that Bethany wanted to take care of this vessel as quickly as possible.

Up ahead, they suddenly noticed a small building surrounded by several large trees. "It must be the office," Ruben told her, and like that she was off towards it, hoping to find Kyle Rodgers inside it.

How the heck did I lose him? He was right in front of us, Bethany thought.

She was very angry at herself at the moment, but hoped to find something useful in the office she and Ruben had just entered. Unfortunately, it was empty; only being inhabited by a bunch of papers on a desk, and a few different shoves tossed in the corner.

Kyle could be anywhere in this graveyard by now, but she definitely wasn't willing to wait around for him to come back. She grabbed one of the shovels from the corner, and exited to office to continue her search for the vessel. Bethany hoped that there weren't going to be any more surprised coming her way.

The Watcher had said that this one was going to be easy, but it's hard to trust a man that had so many secrets to hide.

For an old man, Kyle definitely moved fast, but it was possible that he was just doing his job, and not trying to out-run her.

"I'm pretty sure if you approach this vessel with that shovel in your hand, he's going to know something is up." Ruben said, catching up to her quick pace. Bethany didn't care what the vessel thought. All she cared about was riding of him, and moving on the next. "I'm just trying to give you a heads up," he finished, when Bethany didn't respond.

"I don't care what you're trying to do, let me do my job," she snapped back at him, tired of his unwanted advice.

Ruben shut up after that, which she was thankful for. He was getting on her last nerve, and she decided she needed to take a step back from all these feelings flowing through her body, and realize that she was getting a little too close to Ruben.

He was The Watcher's puppet, and as much as he despised that fact, it was how it was, and that was forever his life. Bethany didn't want to be involved in this anymore than she had to. She was going to get what she wanted, and then be gone.

Regardless of what The Watcher had planned for her after this, she wasn't going to become like Ruben, and she wasn't going to go down without a fight if it came down to that.

Up ahead, Bethany caught the sight of Kyle, his body partially in a hole as he began to dig a grave for an upcoming body.

Perfect, Bethany thought. He's basically doing my job for me.
