I felt someone move from next to me, and I quickly opened my eyes. I sat up straight, and I was worried until I realized where I was.
Lance was sitting up next to me in his bed.
"I'm sorry, I guess I fell asleep last night while we were talking," I told him before yawning.
"It's alright, Thalia came in here a few minutes ago. She left quickly, so I have to assume that she's going to tell my parents. I didn't want to wake you though," he explained to me.
"I should probably leave then. I don't want to get you in trouble," I told him worriedly.
"It's alright. You probably want to get back to your room though. Naida might be worried about you," he reminded me.
I stood up and fixed my hair to the best of my ability.
"Thank you so much for showing me your drawings and just talking to me last night. It meant a lot to me," I told him with a smile.
He stood up, and he embraced me in a loose hug, "It is always a pleasure spending time with you, Nixie."
Before I could say anything more, there was a knock on the door.
"Lance, I know you're in there. Is Princess Nixie still with you?" King Bryant asked from outside.
"Yes sir!" I called out to him.
"Alright, I'm coming in," he announced to us.
He opened the door and looked up at us. He moved the rocks from the rock wall into stairs. He climbed up the stairs and crossed his arms.
"Will you two please explain why my daughters all came to my room this morning to explain the fact that Thalia saw you both in the same bed?" He asked us raising his eyebrow accusingly.
"Nothing happened sir, I fell asleep while we were talking," I explained to him.
He looked over at Lance.
"I didn't want to wake her. She was tired, and I didn't think that it would be a big deal," Lance explained.
"It wouldn't be a big deal if you didn't have people watching you and waiting for you both to make a mistake. If Aria or Aidan find any kind of scandal, they're going to make a big deal about it. They already want to end your courtship. We don't need them trying to get you banished to the Land of the Unknown," he explained to us both.
"There isn't a scandal. Nothing happened," I reminded him.
"Good, and it needs to stay that way until you get married, or at least engaged. I don't want to hear anything else about this," he told us both.
"Yes sir," I told him quickly. Lance simply nodded.
"You may leave Nixie. I need to speak with my son," King Bryant told me. I didn't want to leave Lance alone, but I also didn't want to stay when his father told me to leave. I didn't want to disobey him.
"Goodbye Lance," I told him softly before beginning to walk down the stairs.
"I'll see you later Nixie," he told me before I disappeared from his view.
I made it down the stairs and quickly exited from his room.
Thalia was standing outside the room with tears on her cheeks. I knelt down beside her.
"What's wrong Thalia?" I asked her confused.
She hugged me tightly.
"I'm so sorry. I got you in trouble. I told Flora, and she went and told Camelia, and Camelia told father," Thalia explained.
