It's been a few months of shooting and Colleen has only called me a few times. As I'm making lunch for myself, my phone rings. It was Colleen.
"Hello?" I say into the phone.
"Erik..." she says almost in a whisper.
"Yeah.. what's wrong?" I ask dropping everything I was doing.
"Can you please come over..." she says softly.
"Y-yeah... I'm on my way." I then hang up. I quickly make a lunch for her and I and pack it and I'm off. I pull up to her house but something was telling me to check her YouTube channel. I take out my phone and click on her channel. I saw the title of her newest video that was just posted an hour ago. I hope everything is ok. I put my phone away, grab the lunches, and knock on the door. I hear the door unlock and it opens slowly. There stood a broken Colleen. As soon as she saw me she pulled me into a tight hug and cried in my chest. I hug in return and slightly rub her back. She soon releases and we walk over to her couch. We sit in complete silence for about a half hour until she finally spoke up.
"He's gone now..." she says softly. I look up at her. She had her head down and was playing with her finger where her ring used to be.
"Wha- what happened?" I ask.
"I brought up the idea of divorce and he just got really pissed at me and pushed me to the ground and left. He took off his ring and threw it across the room and left. I took off mine too and threw it out of anger. I cried for a bit." She says with her head still down.
"Then, I uh... kinda thought about us... our kiss. In that moment I felt the happiest I have ever felt in months and months. But your probably still with your girlfriend and it probably meant nothing to you. It was probably out of pity." She continues on the verge of tears.
"Actually Colleen... we broke up months ago. Her and I's relationship just kinda went down hill. The love faded. The kiss we had.... that was magical. It meant something to me trust me. People say that magic is fake and doesn't exist. I'm not one of those people. Of course I know magic is thought of as card tricks and cutting yourself in half but that's not what I believe in. The real magic is in our hearts. When you meet that right person the magic unravels and creates something amazing. That's what I think of us. Once I saw you in the audition room, that's when I felt the first spark and it had just gotten stronger and stronger and I guess what I'm trying to say is that we are unstoppable together and I love you- " she cuts me off by placing her soft, warm lips on mine. I relax. She pulls away and smiles at me.
"I knew that would shut you up, you idiot." She giggles at me. I chuckle softly.
"I love you too. Thank you so much for absolutely everything." She hugs me tight.
"Anytime" I smile to myself and kiss her behind her ear. We release and smile at each other.
"I brought you some lunch" I smile. She smiles in return. She takes the container and opens it up. She takes out the sandwich and begins to eat.
"You gonna eat?" She asks me.
"Yeah I just wanna make sure you're well and eating." She smiles at me and nods. I take out my food and begins to eat.
"Wanna watch tv?" She asks.
"Yeah! What you wanna watch?"
"Let's watch our show!" She smiles. I smile in return. She puts on the show and she cuddles into me.
Halfway through the show she turns to me.
"What are we?" She asks. I pull her head up by directing her chin and kiss her soft, warm lips.
"Does that answer your question?" I smile pulling away. She nods with a big smile. One I haven't seen in a while. She was genuinely happy now which filled my heart with so much more love and admiration for her. I love seeing my girl in her happiest state of mind and I'm glad I can bring her there. I'm the luckiest.
"I loved where we are right now but can we please take this relationship slow. I'm really happy for once. I don't want to risk us ending. I nod and we fix our attention back to the episode. She ends up falling asleep on me. Once all the episodes are over, I check the time and it was about 2 am. I pick her up and carry her to bed. I tuck her in and kiss her forehead right on her hairline.
"Goodnight, Love" I whisper softly. She smiles in her sleep. I write her a quick, sweet note for her to wake up to and place it on her bedside table. I close her door quietly and leave. That night I went to sleep with the biggest, goofiest smile in my face. I was truly happy and so was Colleen. Magic is truly real.
