Chapter 16: Glowy Things

Those glowy things down the tunnel looked so cool. Me being hyper after falling about 7 feet ran up and grabbed one. I examined it carefully. It was a pale pink and had a small shooting star like Mabel’s engraved into it. Kate wasn't far behind and she grabbed the second one. She looked it over and handed it to me seeing me looking. I handed her mine and we looked them over. The one Kate picked up was dark purple almost black with a small but messy circle carved into it. We switched our stones again so I had the pink one and she had the purple one. I jumped as Maple spoke into the darkness. “It's dark” The second she said that I could tell everyone realized how dark it was. I jumped again as all the stones started glowing. All being the ones that no one knew Maple and Hail had. Maples was a dark blue and had been attached to a beautiful black string necklace. I looked towards Hails pocket where a bright purple light was trying to escape. She grabbed it from her pocket and held it out to be examined. It was a vibrant purple and had a small flame etched into it. “I found it just before the floor broke” I saw Maple looking excited then remembering where we were “We should probably keep moving” Micha said startling everyone but Maple. I forgot he fell down here to. He looked at us funnily before helping Hail get ahead. We all quickly followed not wanting to be left behind. “Guys I found another 1” Micha yelled holding out a smooth white stone with a swirl carved into it. “Would youguysmindifIkeptthisone” Everyone gave there consent so he put it in his pocket as it started to glow. I screamed as I saw a bat fly by and we were all shocked when Kate's stone glew extra bright. Just like with Maple there was a bright flash and when the light died down Kate had large wings attached to her hands. Her sweater had changed to work with her wings comfortably being it had large rips allowing her to move. I looked to her head and noticed large bat ears with green, purple and black swirls. “Wat”
