"I have seen beauty in people who were called ugly and I have seen the devil in the most angelic faces."

Chapter Seven:

"Cut the red one" I pointed the scissors at the red line but she grabbed my hand pulling it back. "No no cut the blue one." She ran her hand through her hair brushing it back. "Wait do the red one."

"Dammit Amelia which one do I cut?" I threw my hands in the air from her switching the colors. We had managed to get here in 15 minutes, but we had to sneak through the back. I had left Axel outside the door after telling him to lay down.

"I don't know they've all been some how connected to each other." She rubbed her hands up and down the side of her face.

"Didn't you learn this stuff?" I gritted out at her.

"No! they never said anything about being able to connect the wires." She rolled her eyes looking at the wires again.

"What's the time Lewis?"

"Um he glanced down at his watch. "4 minutes and 37 seconds."

"Amelia!" I yelled to get her attention.

She covered her ears then dusted her hands off. "I can't concentrate with you yelling at me." She started looking at the wires trying to trace them back to their source.

"Cut the yellow one!" Lewis yelled at us.

I looked back at him with a serious expression. "How do you know for sure?"

He gave me a fake smile. "Trust me I know. I kind of learned this stuff." He gave me his serious face then gestured towards the wires. "Come on. My life is on the line here."

I sighed taking a deep breath then cut the yellow wire. The bomb stopped and beeped three times then started the count down back up making it go down faster.

"Lewis!" Amelia yelled while standing up. "Look I'm not ready to die so let's just leave. Now!" She looked down at me then back at Lewis. "Al let's go."

Lewis pointed his finger at Amelia agreeing with her. "Yeah for the first time. Amelia is right. You need to get Axel."

I stared out into space thinking back to things."Red."I nodded my head. "It's got to be the red one." I told them my voice barely above a whisper.

"What?" They said in unison.

"The red. I'm going to cut the red wire."  I said my voice louder than before. They looked at each other then back at me. Before they had time to protest I cut the red wire. The bomb shut down immediately going blank.

I dusted myself off getting up and walking past them towards the door. They speed walked a little to catch up to me when we got outside. "How did you know?" Amelia asked trying to look me in the eye.

I untied the rope around the pole that I had tied to Axel. "Uncle Matt" I mumbled to her. I wasn't quite sure if she heard me but I knew she did when she nodded her head.

"How did thinking about Uncle Matt tell you which wire to cut."

I sighed and finally looked at her. "When I was younger something happened and Uncle Matt told me 'Red means stop kiddo always choose red'."
