"It's hard to have a heart when you've stopped so many others."

Chapter Eleven:

"Axel I'll miss you. You were the dream dog everyone wanted, but only few could have." She brought her hand to her mouth then onto his fur. "We love you boy."

"Allyssa." Aunt Carol motioned her head towards the box. "It's your turn."

I smiled looking down at him. "You were the best thing to ever happen to me." I squatted down. "And in the blink of an eye, you were taken from me."

A small tear rolled down my face splattering on the box. And my smile disappeared. "I love you forever. And I'll avenge your death." I leaned down kissing his forehead then got back up standing again.

I set his toys around him, snuggling them against him like he would've wanted.

Amelia bent down closing the box and placing it into the hole we had dug.

We each got a hand full of dirt sprinkling it onto his box.

"I love you boy." I mumbled out.

Aunt Carol scooped the rest of the dirt on top with a shovel, planting a sunflower on top.

I fought back the tears that so badly wanted to escape. Turning to Amelia with my face hardened, I asked. "Now where the hell is that note?"

She led me to the dining table with my aunt on my tail.

She picked up the copy paper that had been folded hamburger style, handing it to me.

I unfolded it, letting my eyes scan over it.

Killing your father that's well played it's a shame Axel had to be dragged into this, he was so brave.

I'm sorry I had to do this to you but you went over board. This punishment I give to you is to others as an award.

-Love Yours Truly, Theo

He had drew small hearts all over the paper that I hated. I crumbled the paper in my hand, throwing it into the trashcan.

I tsked rolling my eyes, my anger growing inside of me. "So what is he suppose to be? A poet now?"

Amelia shrugged agreeing. "Same thing I said."

I slammed my fist down on the table. "And he has the nerve to say I should be happy Axel is dead." I threw my hands in the air. "Or the fact that he said 'your truly' like we're in fucking."

"Language." My aunt told me, pointing a finger.

"Sorry." I mumbled out.

She nodded her head, sitting on the stool.

I patted myself down looking for my phone. "What time is it?"

Amelia pressed her home button on her phone which revealed the time. "4:32"

I patted my legs in a drumingly matter. "Well don't mind me I'm going to try to sleep my problems away."

I jogged up the stairs into my room. Out the corner of my eye I seen a picture of me and Axel sitting on the dresser. I was grinning the most real grin I had seen while he was sticking his tongue out trying to lick my cheek.
