Sitting in a waiting room of the OBGYN was nothing. Every woman had to experience it at some point. It's another story when your 18 year old boyfriend was sitting next to you, looking like a God. The thirty year old couple in the corner and the three other woman scattered around the waiting room probably thought thought we couldn't keep it in our pants for the life of us.

I don't blame them, it wasn't far from the truth.

I doubt many people are trying to have children at 18. And we looked like we were in our early twenties, 25 max, so our age wasn't up for debate. Let's face it, I look like I got knocked up.

I pitied the woman sitting alone across from us. She looked to be at least five months but she was sitting alone. There was a large chance that her baby daddy just couldn't make the appointment but part of me knew that might not be true. If I didn't have Finn I would be lost. That twenty something year old woman was a lot stronger than I am.

I respected her with my fucking life, my God.

My eyes were torn away from the grey walls when a Physicians Assistant came out in blue scrubs with an eye pad in her hands. Finn stopped rubbing circles on the back of my hand when the blonde woman spoke. "Sylvia?" She asked while eyeing the room.

Our hands slipped from each other's grip as we both stood from the blue threaded chairs with wooden legs and arms. I straightened my dry fit grey Olympic top (sports attire seemed to be my only wardrobe now) before crossing the light linoleum wooden floor with Finn right behind me. The woman smiled at both of us before directing us into a light grey room.

"Take a seat on the table. Dr. Simpson will be right in." She smiled politely before closing the door. Finn took a seat in the chair opposite the table, pressed against the other wall.

I barely had time to sit myself down before a dark haired woman in her mid forties with curly hair and deep skin walked in. Dr. Simpson was a breathtakingly beautiful woman. I hoped I looked that in-shape and wrinkleless when I was her age.

Having a baby at 19 probably wasn't going to help me achieve that.

"Sylvia," She smiled with her pearly whites before giving me a firm handshake. She turned to Finn with an equally bright smile. "You must be the...."

"Boyfriend. Finn. It's nice to meet you." He filled in the blank and shook her hand. Dr. Simpson took a seat on the black stool with wheels and looked at her chart.

"So; tell me what's going on today." I never understood why doctors did that when everything is written down in front of their eyes. But who was I to judge?

"Well, I'm pregnant and we figured coming in sooner rather than later was the better choice." I smiled lightly while letting out a breathy laugh. "And we have questions regarding the pregnancy."

"Okay then. Well, I'd like to start with the ultrasound, blood tests, and your overall health before we get into questions and details." I nodded before following her instructions until she was putting freezing ultrasound gel on my lower stomach. "No history of cancer, heart conditions, or blood pressure issues? For either of you?" She asked while glancing at Finn.

"Correct." Finn replied and I nodded.

"This is the fetus. When exactly did you find out you were pregnant?" She asked while gesturing at the screen. The fetus was small, but there was still a distinct human like shape. I stole a glance at Finn who stared in an awe like fashion. His mouth was slightly opened and his pupils taking the space that his forest irises usually occupied. His eyes were glued to the screen, as if he was trying to commit the image to memory despite the fact that we could easily get a picture.
