*Lexi's POV*
*~*~*~*
That's Noah. I know it is.
I let out a small squeak of recognition, and I widened my eyes the tiniest bit.
He looked up from his phone, and looked at me, startled.
"Are you okay?" He asked, confusion filling his eyes, since I hadn't moved.
"Uh yeah, I'm fine," I got up from his hold, dusting off my pants.
He didn't recognize me.
I felt a pang in my heart as I remembered the times we had when we were little. But then again there was a chance his name wasn't Noah, and he was just a clone of him that I've never known of.
"Is your name, by any chance, Noah?" I asked him, my voice coming out much quieter than I meant it to.
His familiar blue eyes looked surprised. "Yeah, you've heard of me?"
I blushed a little. "I guess you could say something like that..." I looked down at my shoes. I didn't want to just walk up to him saying that we used to be best friends when we were little. More like the only friend I've had.
"What's your name?" He looked at me curiously.
Just as I was about to answer, I heard the twins voices shouting at each other.
My eyes widened. I'm not going to pay for that pizza.
I pushed past Noah, apologizing, muttering something that sounded like a, "Sorry! Have to...pizza!!"
I ran into the building just before Jayden came in, running into me, which sent us both to the floor.
"OW KAYDEN!" Jay shouted, just as Kay ran into the building after us.
"SORRY!" Kay said. He tripped over me just as I was getting up, sending us down again. "You started it anyway." He grumbled towards Jayden, still lying on the floor.
"Thanks a lot, Kay. I really enjoy getting knocked down on the floor. Mind you, twice!" I got up once more, holding my back. "Oww, my back hurts."
"Ha! I won second!" Jay shouted in glee. Nice to know he asked about my safety.
"Well, looking on the bright side, at least you're paying." I glared at Kay, still holding my back in pain.
He looked back at me sheepishly, and muttered a 'sorry' under his breath.
"Better be."
I realized people were staring at the three of us. Or more like they stared at my brothers.
"Woah, look at them."
"Are they new?"
"Well I don't know, and I don't care. I just hope they're single." The last girl said, referring to my brothers.
I gagged in response, and the girl that whispered the last comment glared at me.
It was then that Noah walked in, and all attention on us immediately went on to him. I noticed all the girls swooning over him, and the guys staring.
Noah walked up to me, still looked shocked from when I pushed him aside.
"Are you sure you're okay? I feel like maybe you should—"
"Yeah I'm fine!" I squeaked, and I picked up my brothers' arms and dragged them away with me before Noah could say anything more.
"Hey, isn't that—?" Jayden started to say. I cut him off.
"Yes! Now help me get away from him so we don't embarrass ourselves even more!"
Kayden just looked confused. "You mean Noah? The one from the billion years ago?"
"Shush." I hissed.
"Why are you so scared anyways, can't you just go up and say hi?" Jayden started walking back from where we came from.
"No!" I shouted. Then I quieted down. "He doesn't remember us."
"...oh." The twins looked at me in pity. They were never that close to Noah, definitely not as close to him as I was.
"I don't need your pity, since I just realized we have a slightly bigger problem." I looked around at the walls that all looked the same. "I may or may not have lost track of where we were...?"
The twins groaned. "Leave it to Lexi to get us all lost." Kayden grumbled, and I hit him.
The bell rang.
"Oh shit, we need to get our schedules." I said, panicking. I can't be late to class again. Too many stares. "Where's the office?"
Jay and Kay glared at me. "How should I know, you're the one who got us lost." Then said in unison.
"Well in my defence, this is a really big school!" I crossed my arms.
"What's wrong? Just be late. No one cares anyway." Noah said, furrowing his brows.
I probably jumped ten feet in the air, and the twins started laughing.
Noah was standing right behind me. There were two other boys beside him. One was on his phone, while the other was grinning at me, trying to keep in his laughter. He had bluish grey eyes and blonde hair, while the other, the one on the phone, had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He looked scary.
"When did your get here?" I shouted, holding my hand to my heart. "You almost killed me!"
"Sorry." He looked on the verge of laughter himself, and didn't look very sorry. "You didn't answer my question. Why not just be late? No one cares anyway."
"She hates being late." Kay said. "It's almost like a phobia."
"It's not though." I glare at Kay. "I'm not that scared. It's just annoying, and embarrassing."
"Sure, whatever you say."
I rolled my eyes, and Noah chuckled.
"Are you guys new?" The blonde one asked. "No wait, that was a stupid question, of course you're new, I don't know you guys yet." He rambled. "Anyway, my name is Chase! What's yours?" He looked at me expectantly, his bluish grey eyes shining.
"Alexis," I said hesitantly, my eyes jumping to Noah for a second.
He looked slightly confused, but then shook his head, ridding whatever was in his head. I quickly turned my attention back to Chase, fidgeting with my clothes.
"I'm Jayden! But you can call me Jay." Jay sticks his hand out and Chase shakes it.
"What's with the formality? That's weird for you, Jay, you're never polite to me." Kay muttered. "I'm Kay. Or Kayden, whichever you feel." He nods to Chase.
"Since we have all this introduction and shit, the name's Blake." The brown haired boy said, finally looking up from his phone, a bored expression on his face.
Noah hadn't said anything for a while, and I watched him, curiously. "Are you okay?" I piped up.
He shook his head. "Yeah, I'm fine." He finally focused on me. "You guys want to go to the office and get your schedules?"
*~*~*~*
And this is the end of the third chapter. I know I should say this now rather than later, so yeah:
I already know my updates will be getting slower and slower as the chapters go on, but I will try to keep it to at least one chapter per week, faster if I can, slower if I'm extremely busy.
Love you guys,
-Audrey ❤️
