*Lexi's POV*
*~*~*~*
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
I rolled over in my bed for the fourteenth time this morning, and smashed the snooze button again, harder this time than all the other times, making the alarm clock fall of my bedside table, smashing to pieces on the ground.
I jumped out of bed, alarmed at the sound, as I looked at the pieces of clock scattered on the floor.
"Shit." I muttered as I ran over to pick up the pieces. "I'm gonna be in so much trou-"
My door slammed open, my twin brothers, Jayden and Kayden bursted in.
"WHAT HAPPENED?!" Jay shouted, frantically looking around the room. "WHERE'S THE FIRE?!?!"
"Uh, it was a crashing sound, not a fire sound." Kay reminded him, looking at him weirdly.
"Yeah, but you can never be too sure." Jay argued.
"Well there's no fire now."
"And how would you know?" Jay put his hands on his hips.
"Do you see one now?"
He looked around again. "Oh." He sounded relieved.
I sighed. "Guys, could you help me clean this up? I may or may not have killed my alarm clock."
Kay laughed. "Rough morning, isn't it?"
Jay only looked down at his watch, a second later screaming.
"What?!" I panicked. "Is there a fire?"
Kay sighed, putting his head in his hands. "My siblings are all the same." He muttered.
"No but really-"
"WE'RE LATE!" Jay shouted at us.
My eyes widened. I hated being late more than almost anything. "Double shit!" I muttered, grabbing some random clothes from my closet and running into the bathroom.
I heard the door slam shut behind me, and I already knew the twins were doing the same as me.
Our aunt was already out of the house, since she had an early shift as a nurse at the hospital nearby. Thank god she wasn't there to hear us scream about broken clocks.
After ten minutes, I was out of the shower, fully clothed and ready to go to school. It was our first day, and I hated making bad first impressions. Being late would be so embarrassing.
"I'm gonna hate this school and everyone in it." I said to myself as I walked over to the mirror to see what I was wearing.
My outfit was pretty plain, a slightly oversized t-shirt and black skinny jeans. I shrugged. Good enough.
But then I noticed my hair. It was all over the place and I almost screamed at the monster in the mirror.
I rushed back into the washroom and brushed it as quickly as I could, knowing that by now the twins were probably out of the shower and putting their shoes on.
"Let's go Lexi!" I heard Jay scream. "We're gonna leave without you!"
"I'm coming!" I shouted back, running out of my room, down the stairs, and up to the front door. I looked down at my watch. 8:45. School starts at 9:00. No time for breakfast, damn.
"Let's go." I slipped on my sneakers and ran out the front door, in front of the twins, who ran after me, Kay stopping a little to lock the door.
Yes, I was seventeen, and yes, I could drive. But I had no car, so the twins and I always ended up running everywhere we needed to go. It was a good thing we had amazing stamina and speed, or we would've died of exhaustion by now.
"I'll race you guys to the school!" I shouted, and I heard the twins complaining behind me, but they never back down to a challenge, especially after I said the next sentence. "Loser buys us all pizza for dinner!"
I sped up, seeing the school nearing me. We lived pretty close, only a few blocks away.
Once I reached the door, I whooped in victory. "Free pizza for me, free pizza for me," I chanted in a singsong voice.
As I kept walking, I hit a wall, and almost fell over.
But as I was falling, someone caught me. I looked up at the wall I had hit, noticing it was actually a person.
"Be careful," the boy I was looking up at said. "I don't want you getting hurt." He wasn't really focused on me and instead the phone he was holding in his hands.
I stood up, studying him. He had brown, messing hair, and blue eyes that reminded me of the ocean, and also someone I met a long time ago....
