everything went back to normal again. what happened before was now the past, though the two felt admittedly closer now. soonyoung had fallen asleep again while jihoon was up and playing on his phone.

"no! shoot him you useless teammate!" jihoon yelled as his teammate made the wrong decision of which gun to use and which person to aim at. when the game was over, he slammed his phone onto the table and leaned all the way back into the chair. "i lost because of that guy!"

soonyoung groaned, covering his ears with his fingers. he replaced his fingers with the nearest pillow. jihoon whispered a soft "sorry."

soonyoung struggled to sleep again as jihoon was resumed yelling out nonsense. he shut his eyes tightly and covered his ears, drowning out jihoon's voice. after what seemed like two hours but what was only five minutes, soonyoung gave up. he left the messy bed, going into the bathroom to wash up.

"jihoon, stop playing and go get food." soonyoung scolded the younger boy. jihoon and soonyoung had gone to the hotel's buffet for breakfast. jihoon mumbled, "okay..." but soonyoung knew he would continue playing for another hour or so. soonyoung felt the urge to snatch the phone out of his hands again, but frowned as that memory on the train flashed into his mind. "i'm going by myself, then." soonyoung said, taking his plate.

he walked to where all the foods were displayed and away from the seating section.

soonyoung heaved as much food onto his plate as possible - fruit, cereal, pancakes, and pastries. he made sure to grab one of jihoon's favorite foods, a small fluffy cake, and put it on the plate. soonyoung walked back to the table and handed jihoon the little cake. "here, jihoon. i know that this is your favorite!"

jihoon smiled, but he didn't eat the cake. he just put it to the side and kept playing his game.

"jihoon, do you not like it? i thought you did..." soonyoung said.

"oh, i'll eat it in a while." jihoon replied absentmindedly.

"but you'll be hungry..." soonyoung worried.

"no, i won't." insisted jihoon.

more than anything, soonyoung wanted his boyfriend to put his phone down amd talk to him. he wanted to hold him close again like he had last night. most importantly, he wanted jihoon to care for himself.

a small thought snaked into his mind and hissed, "leave him."

soonyoung sat, stunned. he couldn't do that.

right?
