"We should go down to the river today." Dakota states as she looks up from her breakfast and book. "We have been through so much lately, and I want to swim."

Sam looks up at her and looks as though he's thinking for a moment before he smiles. "Yeah. That's a good idea, Kota." He nods, bringing his fork to his mouth and filling it with salad.

"Great!" The blonde grins excitedly as she jumps up from her seat and runs off to the bedroom to get changed. She looks through her bag and finds a vest top and cotton shorts, and puts them on. "Perfect!"

Sam soon walks in with an amused smile on his face and walks to his own bag. "You know, you're adorable when you're excited." He tells Dakota, causing a furious blush to creep up her neck and cheeks, turning her whole face a bright red. Sam laughs and shakes his head. "And when you blush."

"Well, thank you. I guess." Dakota giggles, walking from the room to wait for Sam to get ready. Just because she's seen him naked before, does not give her the right to all the time.

Soon enough, Sam walks out in a pair of shorts and a t shirt, carrying a couple of towels, some food and knives. "Let's go then, shall we?" He suggests. "Bones!" He calls out to the dog to follow and they leave the building, walking towards the lake.

Sam and Dakota join hands, threading their fingers between each others. Bones runs off ahead, stopping every so often to look back at the couple to make sure they're following.

"You know. He warmed up to us very quickly." Dakota notices. Sam chuckles and nods.

"Yeah, I noticed. At first I panicked, thought he might be a Skinwalker. But after I tested him with silver, I knew he was just a stray dog." Sam explains. "I think he just wanted someone to love him. Isn't that what everyone wants?"

Dakota nods slightly, because, yeah. That is what everyone wants. Everyone wants someone to love them. Whether it be romance or lust. Sibling or parent. Friend or cousin. Everyone wants some kind of love in their life.

"Of course they do." She sighs. "That is why I am so glad to have you." The blonde runaway places a kiss on the taller teenagers cheek, feeling him smile slightly.

"Me too." He murmurs.

Finally, they reach the lake. Sam places the towels, food and knives by the edge before taking off his shirt. Dakota, again, can't help but trail her eyes over his body. Who wouldn't?

Sam and Dakota share a look before they both run and jump into the lake, laughing the whole time until they both descend underwater for a moment. They break the surface at the same time, breathing in deeply.

"I'm already having so much fun!" Dakota squeals, splashing water towards Sam excitedly.

"Oh, Blondie. You are going to regret that." Sam glares teasingly as he leaps for her, Dakota's eyes widen and she quickly holds her breath as Sam drags her underwater for a moment, before pulling her back up again and she bursts out laughing.

"Hey!" She whines, a playful pout coming to her lips. "That was mean."

"Oh, that was too mean for you, was it, Buttercup?" Sam asks with a teasing smirk. He brings his arms back and pushes the water towards Dakota's face, she glares and they both continue splashing at each other and laughing like crazy.

Bones swims around the lake too, barking at them every so often as they accidentally splash him. Sam eventually lifts Dakota up and throws her into the water, she laughs as she comes back to the surface.

"That was pathetic, Samantha." She smirks, earning a small glare from her boyfriend.

"Right." He nods with a small smile. "Right."

The rest of the day is spent swimming and playing around in the lake, eating their small picnic and playing fetch with Bones. Dakota manages to take a few pictures without getting her camera wet, and puts everything back in it's bag while she's not using it.

Overall, the day is amazing for the couple. Ending with them watching the sunset, looking at the stars for a while and then going to bed and falling asleep in each others arms.

Little did they know, the next day would be nowhere near as perfect as this one.
