Chapter five "Shaylee"

  "We should go, if we want to make it to maku before it gets dark" Barks Katana. I stare up at her and nod.
  "Already...?" Candace yawns.
"It's twelve o'clock." Lily exits her tent
  "I'm sorry, who are you again?" Candace spat.
"Lily, why?" Lily murmurs
  "I don't remember inviting a child to come with us." Candace snarled.
  "You didn't, Actually. He did" Lily pointed to me.
  "Don't bring me into this!" I hissed. Lily looked down at her pocket, and pulled out a photo. She stared down at it.
  "God, if you were here.." Lily murmurs.
"Who?" Candace snags the photo from lilys grasp. "Awwww is this your sister?" Candace's mood changed, almost right when she saw the picture.
  "No." Lily stares, and grabs the picture back.
"We should leave"

  Fritz trotted on ahead of the group with Candace. I look over at Katana. "How far off do you think we are?"
  "Not far, do you see that up in the mountains?" Katana points up to a city, with more buildings that I can count. 
  "How could I not, it's beautiful" I smile.
"That's Maku" She smiles back
  "I have a question" Lily barks.
"And that is?" I stare down at the child.
  "I thought you were gonna stay in Brackia, whatever happened?" Lily looks up. I feel a shiver stroll down my spine, I never told her I planned to stay there.
  "It just wasn't the right town I guess..." I manage. Katana stops in her tracks, and stands alongside Candace and fritz. We've arrived.
  "I've never seen anything like this before.." Fritz' eyes glimmered in the sun.
  "I was raised here." Katana smiled "Happy memories"
  "Let's go, already!" Fritz smiles. Candace and katana run towards the Main Street, Fritz follows. "Go On ahead, I'll catch up." Lily insists. "If you say so." I smile, and run towards the group.

  "Who are you supposed to be?" Candace spat at the merchant.
  "Dark, haven't you heard of me?" Dark snarled.
  "No, we haven't actually" Fritz stares at dark.
"Of course, Your from Ordem aren't you." She spat at Candace.
  "No need to get hasty" I step forward. Who does this woman think she is? She approaches us and insists we leave before we 'regret it'
  "Why must we leave maku" Lily murmurs.
"Shaylee will find you, she seeks out all from Ordem" He spat. "I could get a great deal of money for turning in two Demond's"
  "Shove off" Fritz kicked rocks towards him.
"Let's go." Katana tugged at my arm. I turn back and follow Katana. Lily, fritz and Candace follow shortly after.

  "Idiot!" Candace spat.
"I know, She was insane" I chuckle
  "Not just that- she wanted to turn you and fritz in" Lily frowned.
  "Whatever, kid" Candace stares down lily.
"Everyone, shut up. Look.." Katana pointed at a dying horse. "We have to help it."
  "What can we do?" Fritz crouched down by the horse.
  "Use your dark magic- something!" Katana snarled, then crouched down to comfort the horse.
  "It's called dark magic. If i didn't anything to it, it would only die faster." Fritz let the horses stomach.
  "Why not bring it to a vet?" Lily sat by Katana.
"Y-yes!" Katana smiles, she stares at fritz "We have to carry it"
  "I can do it alone." Fritz tosses some purple dust on the horse, and her hand turns purple. She lifts the horse from the floor.
  "Let's go" I lead us all to the vet.

"Half way there" I smile.
  "Hurry! He stopped breathing!" Fritz shouted. The townsfolk nearby whispered as we run down the gravel street. All of the sudden, fritz stopped. The horse fell.
  "Pick it up!" Katana spat
"My Magic's worn off- were not going to make it." Fritz touched the Now dead horse. Katana and fritz lay by it, Katana crying. Some townsfolk come and pay there respects to the horse, I look to my right- Candace is crying.
  "You'll be okay, it was just a horse" She looks up at me.
  "Still. We could have kept it alive" Candace frowned.
  "He's in a better place now" Lily smiled at Candace. Candace ignores her comment and looks up at me.
  "Let's find somewhere to stay." Candace smiles, wiping away her tear.
  "Alright." Fritz stands up. Katana shortly after. We all find a cabin to rent for the night.
  "Can I perhaps have my own bedroom?" Lily asks.
  "You can sleep on the couch. Me and skyefall will take a room. Fritz and katana will take the other" Candace looks around at all of us.
  "But I wanted a.." Lily is stopped by Candace
"I didn't ask you" Candace spat.
  "Why so mean?" Lily looked up "What did I do?"
  "You came on the journey" Candace snarled.
"I was offered by him." Lily pointed to me.
  "Don't bring me into this, again" I shrug. Candace grows mad, after I said that. She grabs lily by her cheeks and punched her.
"You sleep on the damn couch" she spat. Candace entered our bedroom. I help everyone else get settled in. Candace has called asleep and I wander off to get water. I hear whispering from katana and fritz' room.
  "What is Candace's problem?" Fritz asked
"Does it look like I know?" Katana frowned.
  "So rude" fritz snarled. I continue on, I pass lilys sleeping body and grab a small bucket of water. I return to bed for tomorrow's journey.
