meet the parents

ashton's hands were sweating. badly, and ella could tell. she held his sweaty palm, and brought it up to her face to kiss it.

"ew." she mumbled.

"sorry." he chuckled.

"it's okay ash, everything will be fine." he nodded as ella rang the doorbell of the house. within a minute it was opened up (i just sang that sentence okay) and it was her mother. 

"oh hello! you must be ashton! ella talks about you all the time." ella uncomfortably laughed while death glaring her mom. 

"hello." ashton sweaty hand shook her mother's hand.

"well come in." she smiled, holding the door open while wiping her other hand on her dress.

ella pulled ashton into the kitchen where her dad was sat at the table.

"well you must be ashton." ashton's nerves were going coo coo for coco puffs. her father was a very tall, broad man. 

ashton gulped before answering, "yes sir, he is me, i mean i am his, no sorry he am i," he stuttered while ella was holding back a giggle, " i'm ashton." he shook his hand."

"you better not hurt my daughter or else i'll feed you to the wolves." he growled. 

"those are definitely not my intentions at all mr. rose." her father nodded and burst out laughing.

"son you should of seen the look on your face!" he fell back in his chair laughing. ashton stood there, dumbfounded. 

"dad." ella groaned.

"what? honey i was just testing him. he seems like a good guy." he glared at ashton who began sweating again. ella groaned pulling ashton into the other room.

"sorry about that." ella mumbled.

"it's okay, your family seems very nice." his voice cracked.

"okay then let's eat!" ella chirped as they walked back to the kitchen. ashton had already cooled down by then.

"so ashton, what do you do?" 

"well uh, i work at a video store at the moment, but i plan on going back to school and getting my degree to maybe start my own business." both ella and her family looked shocked from the new news. 

"wow, sounds good to me." ella's parents exchanged looks nodding. ashton felt pretty good. 

just as someone was going to speak, the doorbell rang. her mother stood up and answered the door.

"oh hi calum!" she cheered. ella heard distant talking and saw calum with her mother walking in.

"calum!" ella yelled and stood up to hug him. ashton was very, very confused.

"hi el! how's your own apartment?" she just shrugged.

both ella, calum, and luke were close friends when they were younger. calum has been ella's neighbor forever. literally. 

el's mom came back holding a bag of sugar.

"here you go calum." she said while handing him the bag.

"thanks mrs. rose! bye ella!" calum called out as he left the house.

that was random, majority of the family thought.

"calum was my best friend when i was little." ella explained to ashton. 

the night dragged on and actually turned out really well. ella's parents actually enjoyed ashton's company. he even got to crack some of his stupid jokes.

as ella and ashton left, she planted a soft kiss to his cheek.

"you did good tonight," ella buried her face in the crook of his neck, "you even stopped sweating." he chuckled.

eventually, they were at ella's apartment, walking slowly up the steps.

"well that was fun." ashton chirped.

"sure was." she smiled.

"so i'll see you soon okay?" ashton asked.

"okay but take a shower because you smell like sweat." 

"ha. ha. ok i will el." he kissed her forehead.

"come here." she pulled him closer and leaned in for a kiss. ashton began walking down the steps.

"bye ash!" she yelled from the top.

"bye el pollo loco" 

"oh my god." she mumbled and laughed as she went back into her apartment.
