ARABELLA ADIRA'S FAMILY WAS KNOWN TO BE KEEPERS OF SINS AND SECRETS. A league, if you will. The men of letters, as they called it, had been in order for thousands of years. It was a legendary order of agents who served the sole purpose of keeping the secrets they found fundamentally groundbreaking. It was their job, their right.
She knew it was their job and she reveled in it, somewhat. She found it so intriguing how they held so many other's secrets to only never speak of them again. They hid these sins of their neighbors but only when someone needed it hidden.
An affair? A murder? A bastard child?
It was hidden under wraps if it was desired. And so, the men of letters in such a glamorous kingdom, did what they had to in order to keep up such a prestigious legacy. And as time went on, the men of letters obviously had some changes with the company of Arabella. Besides the mothers, they hadn't had a woman within the organization which had not been fully intentional. It had just happened with most people in power being men.
It didn't bother her too much because of how frequent it was. It had been around her for most of her life, if not almost all of it. She found it puzzling how no women were in positions of power when it was obvious they were quite capable but she usually brushed it off.
She hadn't stepped forward so directly but subtly, she was making the big decisions in some cases. It would be through influencing her father or dropping hints of what to do through her brother. It all went towards the center of such a large commotion. She was in the family business, even if they didn't want her to be.
Amongst her family, she was considered the brave and courageous one out of them. It had been crystal clear once the Mikaelsons had introduced themself as some noble family. With wary and concerned thoughts plaguing their minds, the rest of her family made certain precautions while she welcomed them with a common courtesy that she expected from her male counterparts.
She had been practically charmed by them all, mainly one of their youngest since they were a group of siblings. She had been surprised with Finn's distaste & pessimism, amazed by Elijah's noble-like personality & tendencies, Niklaus' skills along with his outlook on life, interested in Rebekah's own feelings towards everything and most of all, utterly enchanted by Kol. He lived his life with what he had even if his family always left him in the shadows, much like her own family. Two misfits, if you will.
Throughout many months and weeks, they all grew a tight bond with one another. She had grown especially close to Kol, Elijah, & Niklaus plus Rebekah. Elijah & Niklaus admired how she led her life with such optimism and Rebekah enjoyed to have another girl to chat with. With Kol, she felt like she could be who she always was, internally. In a society ruled by men, women around her had been pressured to be 'obedient' and 'lady-like'. It frustrated her but she kept it to herself because it'd only end in trivial annoyance from others. It's what she did, keeping everything bubbling under the surface until it would explode from the inside out. But, Kol had finally reminded her of how she needed to be herself, otherwise, she'd lose who she truly was.
