The Attack

Classes seemed to drag on forever and now it was lunch. Instead of waiting for her friends, like she would usually do, she rushed straight out of the classroom and into the girl's bathroom. She ran into a stall, locking the door, and sat on the closed lid of the toilet, putting her head in her hands. She sniffled, silent tears dribbling down her face. "Why am I crying?" She scowled at her actions, furiously rubbing at her eyes, trying to stop the tears that seemed to be never-ending. "I'm not strong enough to do anything. I can't even spend time with my friends without crying and I don't even know why." She muttered angrily.

Suddenly she heard the door creak as it opened. She put a hand on her mouth as to stop the small whimpers that escaped her lips every now and then. She heard as the person made slow steps into the room, the heels of their shoes clicking on the tiled floor. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise as the clicking stopped outside her door. She saw the toes of the persons, black dress shoes under the door. A rattling sound caught her attention, making her eyes dart over to the lock that was shaking as the person tried to open the door.

'There- there's someone in here.' Her voice came out in shaking whispers in hopes that the person would stop.

Just as she had hoped, they did. The lock stopped moving as the person stopped, yet they didn't move away as she could still see the black shoes under the door. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as they didn't move away, her mind drifting off as to why they were still there. She was ripped harshly from her thoughts as a large bang was heard. She looked around for the source, but soon realised that the lock from her door was missing, a large hole with split wood edges in the lock's place. Her eyes widened in shock and the door slowly swung open, revealing a boy in a black suit. She looked up to his face, her eyes as wide as saucers, seeing the broken lock rolling on the floor behind him. As her eyes met his face she opened her mouth to scream but nothing came out. She moved her hands to her throat, trying to let at least a whimper out but no sound came out. Her eyes were glued to his face, his red eyes, and pitch black horns protruding from his temples.

He smirked at her expression, his eyes glowing a bright red as he chuckled darkly. 'Hello, Lilliana.' He mused, taking only a step towards her. He bent down slightly, gripping her chin harshly between his forefinger and his thumb. 'What a pure name for such an innocent face. I shouldn't be surprised.' She looked up at him in confusion, fear still clear on her face. At her expression, he laughed. 'This is priceless, she is the most important of her kind yet she doesn't even know what she is.'

Once she came to her senses she slapped his hand away from her and tried to speak once again, but got the same outcome as before. 'Feisty, yet weak. So weak. I cannot believe that they are putting their faith in you. Pathetic.' He spat as she scowled at him. 'I shouldn't be complaining. It makes my job easier.' A sadistic smirk made its way onto his face as he held up a hand. A bright light formed in his hand, making her look away from him then it slowly faded. She looked back to see a black orb with red lines, suspended in mid-air swirling around the orb in his hand.

Once the orb had materialized completely he pulled his arm back, only to throw the dark orb at the girl. If she could scream she would have. In shock and fear, she stared at the glowing sphere as it came closer and closer to her face. 'Is this it? No,

'There is so much I still want to do.' As the sphere was only inches from her face, she jumped to the side, slamming into the wall of the stall yet successfully dodging the orb. Once getting over the initial shock of almost dying, she turned to look at where she once was, seeing a large hole in the once white tiled walls. She snapped her head back to the boy, who she was now sure was not a human. His handsome face was morphed into a scowl as he looked down at her. 'You are more trouble than I thought.' He grumbled as he formed another orb in his hand.

As soon as she saw what he was doing, she rolled under the gaps of the stall walls into a different stall. She scrambling ungracefully to her feet and stumbled out of the stall, attempting to get out of the bathroom where there were more people. She wasn't as lucky as she hoped as the boy was standing in front of the exit. She started to back away from him, toward the back wall of the bathroom. 'If I can dodge for long enough, maybe someone will find me." She thought, seeing as there was no other way out.

She had a plan, sort of, now to put it to action. She readied herself, watching as the boy formed two orbs, one in each hand. He smirked and rapidly through the death spheres at her, forming them quickly before immediately throwing it at her. Lilliana was terrified, running around in circles like a madman, only just managing to dodge the orbs.

Suddenly they stopped, she took the time to catch her breath, looking over at the boy who was merging the spheres together to make one large one. Her eyes widened even more if that was even possible. Tears gathered in her eyes, she was lucky she made it this far, she couldn't do this. Her legs were shaking and she collapsed to her knees as the boys smirk widened. 'Bu-bye Lilliana.' He chuckled then sent the sphere forward.

Lilliana could only watch as the orb that would be the end of her came closer and closer. She squeezed her eyes shut, hugging her self and let her head fall limp, not having the strength to hold it up anymore.

A few seconds past a nothing happened but there was a strong smell of smoke, hesitantly her eyes opened. She gasped silently, seeing the back of presumably a male. But he was different, he had wings or what would better describe it, a wing. The source of the rancid smoke smell was coming from him. His pitch black left wing was spread out like a wall of some sort and his right wing was, gone. All that was left of it was bone, pieces of burning flesh still clinging to the bone.

'What a surprise. Still trying to be a hero I see.' The boy snickered.
