The new person was panting softly. 'Adriel, I thought you would be the one to try to eliminate my kind.' The male said, moaning in pain as he tried to move.
'Adriel' laughed. 'Raziel, what a surprise. I thought I killed you long ago.'
'You think I would die so easily?' 'Raziel' questioned, almost playfully.
'Well, you looked pretty dead last time I saw you.'
'I assure you, I will not perish so easily.'
'You say this, yet you are already wounded.'
'Raziel's' eyes drifted to his wing and flinched at the sight of it before turning back to 'Adriel' with a glare. 'You know you have already used too much magic. You won't be able to last more than a mere minute against me.' 'Raziel snapped.
'Adriel's' smirk morphed to a scowl. 'This will not be our last meeting. I will get the girl.' He spoke darkly before he went up in flames. When the flames died down, he was gone.
'Raziel' sighed before his knees gave out and he collapsed to the floor, using his hands to hold up his upper body. His dark hair falling over his face.
'Are-are you okay?' Lilliana mumbled as she moved around to get a better look at his face. He slowly lifted his head, his crimson eyes meeting her dull bronze ones and he smiles, despite the immense pain he felt through his wing.
'Not really.' He said with a slight chuckle.
'Is there a-anything I can do to help?'
'I'm afraid not.' He whispered before folding his wings to his back, hissing in pain. Once his wings had settled, he leaned back now sitting on the floor.
'My apologies, Lilliana, I am Raziel.'
'How do you know my name?' She asked with eyes wide in fear.
'Do not fret, for I am the angel of mysteries and you, yourself are also an angel. That is how I know your name.'
'This guy is crazy! 'She thought as she slowly scotched away from him.
His hand reached out and he gently took her hand in his. 'I know, this is a lot to take in. But it's true. If it wasn't how else would you explain what happened here'
'So what was that other guy? Oh, let me guess a demon.' She sassed sarcastically.
'No,' His voice became low and his hair covered his eyes. 'He is the angel of death and destruction.' Gritting his teeth in anger, he continued. 'He was my friend, a comrade then he went missing. We were all devastated but only a couple months later, many angels had been corrupted, they couldn't take the torture and they fell. He was found next to Satan's throne.'
Her eyes widened in shock and she directed her attention to the floor, processing the new information. 'B-but what about you. Your wings-wing is black.' She mumbled and looked up at him.
He chuckled bitterly. 'It is hard being a fallen angel.' He looked up at Lilliana, 'No matter where you go, your demons seem to follow.'
'What do you mean?'
He turned his head upwards, looking at the ceiling. 'Well, the demons, they are fit for you and only you. Your own personal demon, fit to portray your deepest fears and darkest thoughts. My job,' He once again looked to Lilliana, 'is to protect you, the last angel.'
Her eyes were wide in shock. 'The last angel. W-what about you?'
'I am a fallen angel, I used to be an angel but corruption takes a toll on you.'
'What's the difference?'
He sighed. 'You really know nothing.'
'Hey-'
He completely ignored her and continued, 'An angel is a select person that God has chosen to become a divine creature and is usually sent up to work with him. But in your case, something must have gone wrong, as you have not been sent to heaven and didn't even know what you were. A fallen angel, however, is an angel that has been corrupted. Their wings go black and they essentially turn into zombies, dead but alive. They lost their will to live and gave up, sold their pure soul to Satan himself and now are under his command.'
She slowly started to back away from him. 'Th-then that means that you are under Satan's command.'
His eyes widened and he frantically waved his hands in front of him in denial. 'No, no, no, no. I am, ah how do I put it?' He asked himself. 'Oh! A half fallen angel.'
She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. 'Half fallen angel?'
'Yes, basically. I um' He scratched the back of his neck, looking down. 'It's kinda hard to talk about, just give me a sec.' He uttered. After a little while, he looked at the ceiling with his eyes closed. 'I-I was captured by Adriel himself, my best friend. I was supposed to be the first to join their army of fallen angels. But-but something went wrong. The torture that I had to go through. I was supposed to give up but I didn't, kinda. I was giving up, I thought I would die at the hands of my best friend. My soul was devoured until I was saved by God himself. He came down in all his divine glory and battled Satan." He gulped and grit his teeth. "Long story short I became half fallen angel, okay.' He snapped.
'But you didn't finish the story.'
His head snapped to her, his eyes burning with anger. 'Story time is over.'
She looked down. 'O-okay.'
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. 'Sorry.' He mumbled, 'It's just-I'll tell you the rest when I'm ready.' He turned to face her and smiled.
She relaxed, smiling back at him. 'Its fine, you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.'
'Yeah,' he mumbled, leaving the room in an awkward silence, until he cleared his throat. 'Anyway, we gotta get going.' He stated whilst standing up, wincing at the pain that shot through his back. 'Ack!'
She quickly stumbled to her feet, putting her arm around his shoulders to stable him, being careful to avoid touching his wings. 'Are you okay?!'
He put his hand in her shoulder to hold himself up, putting most of his weight on her. He looked up to her from his slouched position, giving her a pained smile. "Not really, this is gonna make getting up there a lot harder than I originally planned." He mumbled, getting a confused looked from Lilliana in return.
'Getting up where?' She questioned.
'Heaven, duh.' Even in his pained state he was able to sass her.
She rolled her eyes. 'Yeah because that is so obvious.' She huffed sarcastically.
He waved her off. 'Yeah, yeah. We need to focus on the task at hand.'
'I was trying to then you gave me sass!' She exclaimed at him.
He pouts slightly. 'Come on we just need to get out of here.' He muttered, his voice becoming deeper at the seriousness of his words.
At his words she also built up a serious front. 'What do you mean?'
'We have to leave, they know where you are. It's no longer safe here, preferably we would go back to heaven but that isn't really a choice now.' He grit his teeth in anger, looking over his shoulder at the bones of his now disintegrated wing.
