Waking up,Dash remembered why she never drank;her head felt like a sledgehammer was crushing it. The light of the sun make her brain feel like electricity was passing through it. She cringed and tried not to scream from the sheer pain. She lay there, sweating like a pig and mouth feeling like her tongue was made of sandpaper and the roof of it out of dust.
She shifted her eyes that felt like they were made of lead and looked at the alarm clock. It was the middle of the afternoon, one o' clock, and the sun made that quite evident. She wanted to lift her hands the cover her face but they, too, felt heavier than anything she'd ever tried to lift. She shook Apple Jack awake, hoping she had some advice for a hangover.
"Hnnmph?" questioned AJ groggily, sitting up with her hair in total disarray.
"What's the best thing for a hangover,Jackie?" asked Rainbow Dash in a pained, straining tone.
"I've got," her speech was interrupted by a yawn," some painkiller in my car," she said, pulling the covers back and getting up with slight clumsiness; a tired Apple Jack was a disoriented one,but she immediately went to go participate in aiding her friend.
"Thanks..." replied Dash, feeling like it took every ounce of her strength to turn over and lay on her stomach to shield her face from the piercing rays of the sun.
The feeling of the bed rising up from Apple Jack getting up immediately gave Dash a pang of loneliness. The lack of the bed caving in under the weight of another human body washed utter despair over her. She suddenly began to cry. She didn't even realize it,even as the hot tears ran down her face, and the dampness from tears on the cobalt cover cooled her skin. It was like as if a wave of sorrow had splashed over her, and the last of the water was draining from her through her tear ducts.
After the high came the crash. She sobbed. Cried like a little bitch. Weeped like a distraught little girl terribly afraid in the woods. Her aching throat even let sobs escape. She was usually a silent crier. God, how she hated the truth settling in like large blades coming down and slicing through her limbs.
There was now absolutely nothing to numb it. No where she run. She was frozen deer caught in the headlights and now feeling the impact.
By the time AJ returned with the medicine, Dash was already full on crying, her body slightly quaking with each cry. Apple Jack placed a gentle hand on her back and stroked her. Crying made Dash's head hurt even more, but she didn't care. She only cared about Fluttershy. How useful that could've been if she'd just thought this way earlier. She willed herself not to break down.
But you can't will everything away.
Though she lay face down, white dots clouded the blackness in the back of her eyelids. She was going under. She panicked, as usual. She was so afraid Apple Jack would freak out. It was her last thought as she lost consciousness.
And AJ was startled when Dash's sobs abruptly quit. She then became aware her breathing had shallowed terribly; she had almost mistook it for no breath at all. She waited, the silence looming over her.
"Dash...?" she said shaking her,"You okay?" she asked in a soft voice.
No answer.
AJ assumed she was just gritting her teeth trying to trudge through the headache. She feared she may anger Dash if she kept disturbing her, so she went off in search of a washcloth. She strolled to the bathroom, getting a chance to look at the house.
The hallway was an eggshell colour, not much to it. A small, wooden table painted an olive colour with an empty vase stood alone. She looked down at the dark cherry wood floor, her sock-covered feet gliding over smoothly.
