Why?

Alias' POV

Lilac and I have now been living in earthland for 4 months. Even though we miss the Angelic Realm sometimes, we love our new home. We've made so many new friends. Lilac is great friends with Lucy and Natsu doesn't mind her either. Her and the ice princess are obviously into each other, but no one wants to admit it. Erza likes her a lot. They both help stop the boys from killing each other. For me, Levy and I are, like, BFFs. We are both bookworms and I love to write. I get along with Lucy, but she's usually off with Lilac and team Natsu. I'm also friends with Gajeel, but I find that over time, he's started to act differently.... Anyways, I'm also buds with Lauxus and the rest of the Thunder Legion. Oh, also, Mira and I LOVE to tease my sister and the ice princess! Their the closest thing to family we have.

We're not letting them leave us this time.

Lilac and I woke up in our small apartment and got ready. I slipped on a tank top with some denim shorts. Lilac, of course, got on her neon, well, EVERYTHING! Her spiked heels fit perfectly with her outfit. Gaudy, was my thought. But, in whatever clothes Lilac wears, she makes them look good.

We made our way to the guildhall. Once we walked in, Lilac and I hugged then went to our friends.

"OI! LEVY-CHAN!" I yelled over at the petite bluenette at the bar. "ALIAS-CHAN!!!" she yelled back, jumping from her seat.

We hugged and made our way back to the bar. 

"Hey Gajeel!" I said, taking the seat next to him.

He looked over at me and his eyes widened a little. He shot up from his seat. "I have to go to the bathroom!" he exclaimed. As he rushed away towards the men's room, avoiding eye contact.

"Okay?" I say, confused. "What was that about?" I turned over to Levy who had a mischievous grin on her face. "Uh..... Levy?"

"Hehehehehe....." I heard her snicker.

Huh? I dunno.... might as well get a drink, I thought to myself. 

I turned over to Mira, but froze as it looked like she was about to explode.

"Mira? Are you okay?" I said concerned. What is up with them? I thought.

Mira and Levy looked at each other, then me. What the hell is going on?! I thought.

They both had evil grins on their face. 

Before I knew it, they were dragging me away to another room. 

"HEY! PUT ME DOWN! I NEED A DRINK! MIRA! LEVY!!" I yelled at them.

They simply put me down in the room and turned the light on. 

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU GUYS?!" I yelled. 

They then turned to each other and started to fangirl scream.

"WE SHIP IT!!!!!!" they yelled at me.

"Huh?" I was still confused. "Ship what?"

They both facepalmed then laughed.

What? I don't get it?  I thought.

"WE SHIP YOU A GAJEEL!!!!! DUH!!!" they yelled in my face.

"Whaaaaaaa--?" I felt the heat rise to my cheeks. I was completely dumbfounded. 

Once I regained my train of thought I yelled back. 

"Guys! It's not like that! Gajeel and I are just friends!"

That last part made my heart ache just a little.

What's wrong with me?

Gajeel POV

I made it to the bathroom and stayed there for a while.

That was close...

After about 10 mins, I looked outside to see Alias being dragged away by Mira and Levy.

I didn't know why, so I shrugged it off. I went back to the bar and sat down. 

I wonder if she ever noticed me...

I just sat and drank my beer when I heard something faint in the direction the girls went. 

I listened a little closer, and I heard screaming.

Oh no...

I bolted out of my seat and traced the sound to a room on the second floor.

I looked through the keyhole to see the Mira and Levy fangirling and a very confused Alias.

Oh, probably just a new issue of Sorcerer Weekly,  I thought, getting up to walk away. 

"WE SHIP IT!!" I heard Mira and Levy say.

Wait, what? Ship who?  I was suddenly interested.

I rushed back to the keyhole just intime to hear Mira and Levy yell to Alias.

"You and Gajeel! Duh!" They giggled. 

I turned the color of Erza's hair. No, no no no no no no.... I'm a dragon slayer. Dragon slayers don't blush!

I looked at Alias, who was also blushing madly. 

Wait, does... DOES SHE LIKE ME TOO?!

I leaned in closer to the door, wanting to hear her response. 

After a moment, she spoke.

"Guys! It's not like that! Gajeel and I are just friends!"

I felt my heart shatter at that last part. 

Should've known. She'll only see me as her friend...

I made my way down to the guildhall, looking defeated.

"Oi! Gajeel! Wanna fight?"

"Not now Salamander..."

The pink-haired idiot threw a punch.

I dodged with ease and continued walking.

"Aw come on Gajeel! You always want to fight! What's the matter?" I heard him yell after me.

I chuckled. "Whats the matter? WHATS THE MATTER?!" I yelled back. 

"IRON DRAGON IRON FIST!" I yelled, aiming for the idiot. I hit him once, knocking him out cold. The guild just stared at me in disbelief as I walked out of the guildhall.

What a bunch of idiots... That is what I would have thought. But right now, Alias' words keep ringing through my head.

Why Alias? I thought to myself. Why?
