A S H T O N

After Ashton’s shift at the video store; he clocked out and said his ‘goodbyes’ for the night. He started on his way home, tugging at his sleeves. It wasn’t too late, but the streetlights had flickered on and lighted the walkways by the tiniest bit. His hazel eyes flickered around; his thoughts now getting louder around him than the city noises. He let out a small sigh, taking his phone out and his headphones, plugging his ears and playing his iPhone on ‘shuffle’. Finally he was a block away from his house; he saw someone near his house and immediately stopped, unplugging one of the earbuds.  He didn’t speak first as he started to approach the figure, as curious as he was.

“Ashton.”

“Um.. No?”

The figure stepped into the light, or from what he could step into without the light reflecting off of him, Axel got new tricks but Leo didn’t of course, “It’s only me.”

“Only Leo.” Ashton repeated to himself, letting out a sigh of relief, “You said you wouldn’t be here tonight.” His face lit up, a smile stretching across his features.

“I know, I just wanted  to play a game.”

“A game?”

“Hide-and-Seek, babe. Nothing too bad.”

“Oh, um. Well, I probably need a shower. I’m all smelt from work, and this guy, he spilt his coffee on me see-“ He turned around and showed Leo the newest stain on his jeans, “-Damn Alex, like why couldn’t he-“

“Ashton. Enough talking for Hell’s sake.” Leo growled but his features softened when he saw Ashton’s face fall.

“O-Oh. Well. I should showe—“

“No. Please, let’s play.”

“Who’s hiding?”

Leo’s lips curved into a smirk, “Us.”

Ashton raised an eyebrow of confusion, “Then who’s seeking?”

“You’ll see.”

Ashton slowly started to feel uncomfortable, the night was coming down fast. He started to tug at his sleeves again. He opened his mouth to speak but Leo cut him off,

“C’mon, princess.” Leo spoke, taking his hand in his own.

“L-Leo. I-I’m afrai-d.”

“Of what?"

“The d-dark. I mean, what if something grabs me—“

“Ashton, for Hell’s sake. Stop it. I’m not going to let anyone touch you.”

Ashton stood there and for once he stood up for himself, “I said, no, Leo.”

Leo’s eyes widened but turned into a harsh stare, “What did you say to me, Ashton?”

“I-I- said no.” His eyes widened as well, feeling Leo’s fingers constrict around his wrist, “O-Ow, Leo. L-Leo! Youre hurting me!”

“Shut up!” He screeched back, bringing Ashton to his chest. “You’re fucking hiding with me!”

“O-Okay.” Ashton finally crumpled into his grip; whimpering and his eyes started to water.

“Good boy,” Leo smirked, loosening his grip, “Let’s go to the bedroom, shall we?”

“To hide?”

“You heard me.”

Ashton opened the door, timidly. His eyes kept on Leo’s for a moment, his heart raced as they entered the house. He then started up the steps and into his bedroom. He flickered on the lights, biting down on his lip. The room was a normal teenager-looking room. The covers on the bed were black and grey, the pillow cases were white, the walls were covered with band and movie posters, a small tv was near the wall on the opposite side of his bed, a black side-table was at the side of his bed, and the drawers were under the TV.
