Chapter 20 " Better days Ahead"

I was fully healed and was ready for work.

" you sure you don't need anymore time"

" I told you I'm fine Rock" I said putting my pearl earring in my ear.

He looked at me like he wasn't for sure.

After our kiss that night we never spoke of it.

I was okay with it because I didn't wanted to jeopardize our friendship or my feelings.

" aight then .... you need me to drive you"

I looked back at Rock standing the door entry of his room.

He had on his work uniform for the shop.

" no I'm fine you go worry about making some money for me" I winked.

A smirk graced his face.

" I sure will ... see you later" he said walking away.

Hearing the front door close I knew he left.

After patting my face with some makeup I was ready for work.

" welcome back Ms. Bowmen, I hope everything is well with you" Mrs. Ellington asked.

" I'm fine but thanks for asking"

" no problem sweetie" she said passing by me.

I walk further down to where my cubicle was where their was a lot of " get well soon" cards on my desk.

" oh wow" I said taking a seat.

" you see how much these people love you" Marley said.

It look like she was just getting here as well.

" yea this is crazy"

I stack them neatly against my desk being sure to go read each and every last one of them.

" well how is that handsom boy- I mean friend been treating you"

" he is great" I said smiling.

" hmm from that smile it looks it has been more than great"

" what y'all doing"

" nothing" I said pressing the power button to my computer.

I felt her staring at me.

" stop lying to me girl" she said smacking her teeth.

I turn to her in my rolling chair.

" ok we kissed and it was two weeks ago"

I watch her eyes get big.

" I freaking knew it, as fine as he is" Marley said licking her lips.

" you are something else"

" I'm just saying girl you better hop on that train"

" but I'm not though, that would be one big mistake"

" mistake ? Chile please the mistake is you not getting with him"

I swear she act like she knows what is best for me.
