I got home around 11:00. I'm guessing my mom was asleep. I was so comfortable in what I was wearing and went to sit on the couch. I didn't feel like walking upstairs, I had very little to no energy. I started to lie down on the couch and pulled the fluffy blanket that was on a side table next to it and draped it over my body, usually it's meant for company if anyone stayed over. The couch turned into a bed, but I didn't feel like getting up from my comfortable position to change it.

I fell asleep on the couch that night. For some weird reason it was really comfy. I slept for about 3 hours when I heard a loud noise followed by glass shattering on the kitchen floor. I quickly awoke from my sleepy daze and looked behind the couch. I started to walk to the kitchen.

I saw a black figure standing in the darkness, I stared for a while before I realized what was happening. A gun, placed in his hand. Bullets were being loaded. I decided to make a break for it. I gasped and ran as fast as I could, but it was too late. The bullet pierced right through my right side, coming in from my back and out through my chest.

I fell to the floor and screamed bloody murder. He ran out of my back door as my mom tiredly jogged down the stairs to see a pool of blood next to my wounded body. First Ethan got stabbed, I got punched and now it's been taken too far. I've been shot. I wanted to tell my mom who it was, but all that came out was

"Call Grayson." I demanded, trying to keep my breath on a steady pace. I was choking on my own air. My mom ran to the phone, she called 911 first, then she followed my orders as the ambulance had arrived.

I could hear my mom very faintly as she shakily picked up my phone and went through my contacts, looking for Grayson. He finally picked up after multiple attempts.

"Grayson, hello this is Alice, Jordan's mom. She told me to call you first after I called 911. She was just shot. It was the only thing she's said. Yes. Evergreen Hospital is where we're headed. Thank--" That was the last thing I heard before I had blacked out from all the blood loss.

A couple minutes later I woke up in the hospital, they were rushing me towards a door, everything was a blur but I recognized Grayson's figure standing beside my mom. The only words that escaped my mouth in that blurry stage, I breathed "Grayson" I trailed off and passed out at the end. I could faintly hear Grayson asking what happened while I was in and out of consciousness. Knowing he was there made me feel better, when I wasn't. Even though I was in excruciating pain I felt happier.

I regained some consciousness as I saw the doctors drag me into the emergency room, pulling my hand away from Grayson's which I didn't know was there. I saw my mom looking away, crying and Grayson just started at me. Looking me in the face. I could see a few tears streaming down his cheeks.

"What's going on?" I breathed out to the doctor

"Shh. Save your energy, you're gonna need it." He replied

I became unconscious again. This time I hadn't woken up yet. I could hear perfectly fine, I wasn't moving or talking. I felt stuck. Frozen. I stayed inside my brain, trying to fight myself to wake up and I couldn't. Everything that played inside my mind was just the shooting. I recognized the figure standing in front of me even though it was dark, I could see the blond, wavy hair that glistened against the light coming from outside. Jake.

A/N*

I know this is a particularly short chapter for me because usually I try to get over 1,000 words in and i wanted to leave this on a cliffhanger so that it'll build a suspense and with this, I'll keep writing chapters, but won't post them until next week, it's gonna be hard for me not to post but I like to leave a suspense.
