We pulled up at the police station at 11:00 pm. I got out of the car and we walked in. As I opened the door I felt like everyone was looking at me. I hung my head low and followed the nice man.

He brought me in to an interveiw room and I took a seat. He left the room and I heavly exhaled. I sat there and thought about what had happened. I couldn't help but think that this was all my fault. Then all of a sudden a amn in a suit entered the room. "Are you Katie?" He questioned. "Yes." I answered with fear in my voice. Just then a small tear dripped down my cheek. "Can you just go over what had  happened" He asked me.

"Well Sam and I were out eating because it was our 2 year anniversary, and at the restarant we had a little disagreement. So I wanted to leave early. On our way back to his place we started arguing and I was really upset. When the gut in the other lane pulled out to pass someone, the next thing I knew smash! they hit us head on. I blacked out for a few minutes and I awoke I was sitting behind the ambulance. But I don't know what happened to Sam."

As soon as I finished a female walked into the room. "Can I talk to you for a second Rich?" He stood up and walked out closing the door behind him.

I grabbed a kleenex and wiped away the stream of tears. I shook my head as he walked in. "I have bad news." Sam was all I could think of. "Sam is in very bad condition. In the accident he broke his neck, and punctured his left lung, now he can't breath on his own."

I didn't know what to say I was speachless. I could no longer hold back the tears. "Can I see him?" I asked. "I'm afraid not" I put my head in my hands and slowly shook it back and forth.

"We called your parents and they are on the way to pick you up." And just like he was gone, and my world crumbled down into a million little peices.
