"Dinner!" yelled my dad. I must of fell asleep. I went down stairs to the dinning room where food was on the table waiting for me. I sat down where Sam sat when he came over. I looked down at my plate and pushed my pea's around with my fork. I sat there playing with my food more than eating it.
I pushed my plate forward and said "mom I;m not really hungry right now." I said. "Okay I'll put it in the fridge if you want it later." I stood up and I reached the bottom of the stairs when my dad said " are you sure you don't want any pie? Dad I'm not hungry" I said to him. "Okay but I've never seen you pass up pie, it's apple. No thank's Pa." I continued up the stairs to my room.
When I walked in my room I put on the T.V and lied on my bed. After the show was over I walked down stairs to put my dinner in the microwave and heated it up. I poured myself a glass of iced tea and brought my food to my room.
Now I couldn't get Sam off my mind. I didn't want to cry again because I think I've cried enough today, so I clean everything that reminded me of him in a box and shoved it under my bed. I lied down feeling 'okay' now and I drifted off into a deep sleep.
The next morning I woke up at 9:38, I opened my door and saw a book at my door. I opened it, it was the scrapbook that I made a month ago of Sam and I. I flipped through all the memories and smiled the whole time.
I picked up my diry dishes and brought them down stairs. I looked down and smiled seeing Sam's sweater on my body still. I looked around to see if I could find my mom. It's not like her not to make breakfast. "Mom! Dad!" I yelled out. I looked around the whole house. I went to my room and texted her.
5 minutes later she texted me back. She said that she was shopping and she would be back in 10 minutes to pick me up. But where were we going? I got ready then went down stairs. I put some waffles in the toaster and at them waiting on the porch. When she got to the house I climbed in the passenger seat. "So where are we going?" I asked her. "Well your guest speaking at Sam's funeral, and I thought you might need a new dress." I wasn't really ready to think of the funeral but I wasn't going to tell her that because I knew that we weren't turning back now.
We pulled into the dress shop. "Let's go!" she said stepping out of the car. "Yeah." I said. We walked in and as soon as I saw this black dress about knee length, with roses on it, strapless I knew i wanted it.
I tried it on, perfect fit. She payed for it and we made our way back home.
We pulled in the driveway and I grabbed my dress and a bag of food I went to unlock the door. I opened it and all of a sudden a puppy ran up and jumped up on me. I turned to mom "what is this cute little thing doing here? I asked her. My dad came walking down the hall. "Your mother and I know you"re going through a hard time and what better way to cheer you up than a puppy."
I put down my dress and the bag and picked up the puppy. "Thank you guy so, so, so much! So what are you going to name him?" My mom asked. "Sam." I said. I set him down and went to hang up my dress. I walked up the stairs and Sam followed close behind.
I was just about to get in the bath when there was a knock at the door. I picked up Sam and ran to the door. I opened it and there stood Sam's mom. "Hello hun." she said. "Hey!" she then saw the puppy. "Awwww cute puppy!" she exclaimed reaching her hand out to pet Sam. "I just got him, his names Sam." I set him down and asked her "What brings you here?" We sat down in the living room.
"I just wanted to go over what's happening at the funeral." She told me. "Were going to have it in the cemetrey on 58 road, it's gonna be at 2:30 on Sunday. That"s 3 days away" I told her. "Yeah I know. Also you're gonna say the closing speech. Well I got to run I'm very busy." She stood up and gave me kiss on the cheek and she was gone.
I went to my room and started to write my speech.
