You've met benny for about 2 weeks. You're going for a jog with him today. You were just finish drinking the last milk on the fridge. Your brother, is eating cereal on the couch.
"Mom, we ran out of milk. And I'm going outside for a run, okay?".
"Okay sweetie. And can you ask your little friend benny if he wants to go to church together later?". She said from her bedroom. She doesn't know you and benny are going steady ( is that a word they use back then? Steady?).
"Sure mom, that'll be nice". You said opening the front door. "Byee". You walk out, then looked around the neighborhood. You walked to benny's house, you saw smalls walking out of his house.
"Hi, y/n. Waiting for benny huh?". He had a ball on his hand.
"Yeah, what are you doing out so early?". You took the ball then played around with it.
"The guys said they would teach me if i bring a ball". I gave the ball back to him.
"Really?, that sounds fun". You smiled at him. He's 2 grade below you, so you look at him as a little brother. His mom is your mom's friend.
"Why don't you stop by sometime huh?". He said, with a smile.
"Yea, sometime". You smiled back.
"I gotta go, y/n. I'll see you later". He walked while still looking at you. "Byee". He waved, then you waved back. When you turned around you saw benny heading out the door. And you see his mom.
Benny's POV:
"Mom, i'll be back before church i promise". I said while looking back at y/n.
"Ok fine. Is that your little friend y/n. Hello, there ". She said waving at her. She called her over to the porch.
"Hi, mrs. Rodriguez... I'm y/n". She said pulling her hand out.
"Nice to finally meet you. Benjamin talked so much about you". She said shaking her hand. She giggled, i hinted my mom to stop embarrassing me. "Y/n would you like to go to church with us today?".
"Of course, i was just gonna ask actually". I could tell from mom's face, that she really likes y/n.
"Okay then. We should probably go, we're getting late". I said, then pat y/n on her shoulder. "Bye, mom". I said running out the porch pulling y/n's hand.
"Bye kids". She waved at us. I just smiled at her, y/n waved with her other hand. We stop after we can't see the house anymore.
"Benjamin?". She raised an eyebrow. "Pfftt...". We both laugh.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever". I said then continued jogging. We went to a park that we visit a few days ago. We usually run together on saturdays, but we ask each other on school days too. But we go more early than usual.
"Benny, why don't you sign up for softball at school?". She said, as we sat on the bench eating ice cream.
"Haven't i told this yet?". She shake her head. "Because they don't play fair". I saw a girl pass by that looked familliar. She looked at us then waved at y/n. S*hit, i thought to myself.
Your POV:
i saw sherry stalls coming towards us. F*ck, she's gonna tell every one. She was a nice girl, she just has a big mouth. "Hi, sher. Funny seeing you here". I said standing up, benny followed along. I felt a bit of discomfort. I saw benny glanced at me, and he knows. What if on monday, everybody knows? What if benny then wants to break up with me? What if benny doesn't want to be seen with me?
"Hi, funny seeing you here". She said in a matter of fact tone. I forgot she lived near here.
"You know me... oh this is benny, he's-". I think of what to say. "My baseball mate".
"Ohh, nice to meet you benny. I'm sherry". She reached her hand out.
"Nice to meet you too. Where do you go to school?". He shook her hand.
"Union middle school, same as y/n. You?". I bet benny regret asking.
"Uhh same". He said looking down.
"Well, it's nice seeing you today. I really gotta go, see you at monday alright?". She positioned realdy to leave. We said out goodbyes. She waved at us, we waved back.
"Well, i bet you regret asking that didn't ya?". Benny nodded.
"S*it, it's half an hour till church". We jogged about 10 minute, then i russed towards my house.
I took a shower, then i dressed. I woar a white polo shirt, blue circle skirt, black belt and with platform shoes. I ate a bit of breakfast, because i didn't had much time. I told mom that I'm going with benny and his family to church.
"Who's benny?". My sister lia still haven't know about benny.
"Oh, he's a friend". I said while pouring orange juice.
"Sure he is". She said in a sarcastic tone. I drank the orange juice then ignored her remarks.
"Bye mom, see you there". I said then close the door behind me. I saw benny standing beside his car waiting for me. He smiled at me, i smiled back.
"Heyya, pretty ". He opened the car's door, and sign me to get in.
"You don't look too bad aswell, stud". I said barely whispering. While sitting in the car.
"Y/n, this is liz. Liz, this is y/n". Benny said signing at a girl, to ehat it seems to be his sister.
"Hi". I waved at her.
"So, this is the infamous y/n, huh?". She side smiled at benny. Benny benny nudged her to shut up. I laughed a little. Church was fine, but some kids from school was looking at me and benny funny. Some also whispered. I guess they heard. Gee, can't wait to go to school tomorrow.
monday.
I walked to school with benny and the boys, this isn't the first time we walked together to school. They all went to elementary, accept for bertram. Bertram left because he needed to get to his locker.
"See soon at english, y/n. See you at lunch, benny". Bertram was in the same year as me.
"Bye, man". Benny said to him. He gave him a high five, and waved at me while going to his locker.
Benny's POV:
I'm walking with y/n. I realized some people was looking at us and whispering. I could tell y/n felt anxious. She looked down as we walked through the hall. We went out to the fountain, it's 15 minutes till class. I stand by the side of the fountain, i saw the janitor but i didn't care.
"Benny, what are you doing?". She said looking to me confused. I pulled her to the side of the fountain next to me.
"Telling the school about us". I said smiling wide. "Hey, everybody.... i have an announcement to make, ME AND HER ARE GOING STEADY". I said pulling her to a side hug. "SO IF YOU COULD PLEASE, LEAVE MY GIRL ALONE". I said loud enough so everybody outside can hear me.
Y/n's POV:
I had no idea what benny was about to do. When he told the whole school about us, i just knew. He's a real one. He's the one....
No one's POV:
everybody clapped at them while they walked through the halls. They both was happy and falling for each other.
