(Greg's POV)

'bad day at work, will be home late. -M'

I read the text and sighed. Poor Myc, he's had a lot of bad days lately. I shut off the movie I was watching and texted back.

'have you eaten?'

'yes, thank you for asking. Have you? -M'

'mmhm.'

I grabbed a box of cake mix and started humming to myself.

'how was your day? -M'

'it was okay, i guess.'

I was able to single handed text him and stir the cake batter; probably not a good idea, but I didn't care at the time.

'mm. -M'

'want me to pick ya up?'

'no, no, its fine! I should return to work. See you soon. -M'

I shut my phone off and finished the batter and put the cake in the oven.

---

Mycroft still wasn't back after the cake finished baking and iced. I set it in the fridge and resumed my movie.

"Greg?" I heard him call out just as the movie resumed. It had to be a really bad day if he called me Greg instead of Gregory.

"Hey Myc," I greeted, pulling him into a hug. He seemed to collasp into my arms, burying his face in my chest.

"Mmmeh..." he mumbled. I hummed soothingly to him.

"I made cake," I chuckled softly. Mycroft pulled away to look at me, some of the bright life returning to his eyes.

"Thank you, Gregory." he smiled a little, hugging me a bit tighter. I smiled warmly, kissing his cheek.
