(I tried to write an angst thing of events after season 4 but I'm probably 100% wrong since Idr the end of season 4)

Greg knocked on Mycroft's door, holding a coffee. He waited for the door to open, remembering the promise he made to Sherlock.

The door opened, and an exhausted looking Mycroft appeared in the doorway.

"Hey Myc." Greg said softly, holding out the coffee.

Mycroft raised an eyebrow, taking it. He stepped aside, allowing Greg to step inside.

"How've you been?" Greg asked gently. Mycroft only shrugged in response, taking a sip of coffee. Greg scanned his face, sighing a little.

"I'm here for you, Mycroft."

The words were met with a small nod.

Greg couldn't think of anything to say, wishing he knew what to say.

"Thank you," Mycroft said in a soft voice. Greg looked at him, nodding.

"Anytime."

Mycroft nodded again. Returning to the almost silent way he'd been since whatever happened.

"Do you want me to stay for a while?"

Mycroft nodded, taking another sip of coffee. The two sat down, both remaining silent.

Greg lightly rubbed his shoulder, the only sort of comfort he felt he could do.

Mycroft glanced at him, leaning slightly against the other's touch. Greg gently wrapped an arm around his shoulders, noticing how the other relaxed at the touch.

"Gregory?"

"Yes?"

"How long do you want to stay?"

"As long as you want me to, Myc."

"But what if I need you to stay forever?"

Greg paused at that, looking Mycroft in the eye.

"Then I will."

Moving in was easy; Greg didn't have much in his small apartment anyway.

Once again, he was knocking on Mycroft's door, this time with his bags and still the constant cup of coffee.

Mycroft answered-still silent but looked less exhausted and less emotionless. He didn't look any particular emotion, but it wasn't a blank look anymore.

"Hey Myc."

"Hello Gregory."

Greg smiled a little, handing him the coffee. Mycroft smiled a little in return, letting him in.

"Are you sure you want me to-"

"Yes."

Greg looked up at him, nodding slightly.

Mycroft helped him with his bags. Greg mumbled a soft "thanks", which was received with a nod.

***

Mycroft leaned his head against Greg's shoulder, trying to keep his eyes open. Greg looked over at him, "hey, get some rest."

Mycroft looked at him, shrugging a little. He yawned.

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"Being here for me."

Greg smiled a little, wrapping an arm around him. "Anytime."

Mycroft smiled back, shifting closer and shutting his eyes. Greg hugged him a little closer, a silent promise.

"Anytime."
