I haven't heard from Quan all day. He's been pretty distant today. I called him, expecting to hear some type of drowsiness in his voice since he "didn't feel good".

He answered "Hello?"

"well hey baby, where have you been? you haven't texted me all day."

"O-oh I'm chilling with D, Rell, & Twon" he sounded hesitant to say that.

I kind of hated when Quan was around those three, they were nothing but trouble together. D, Rell, & Twon all sold drugs. They were cool dudes, I just didn't like for Quan to be around them because that only meant trouble.

"I thought you didn't feel good?" I said in his exact tone of voice mocking him.

"I mean bae, we just chilling, playing 2k. It ain't like we out"

I heard Quan talking in the background asking someone "how many", I didn't bother to ask who he was talking to.

"oh okay, well I'm over Mia's, I guess I'll talk to you later. I love you!"

"aite, I love you too."

I got up from the couch to go into my room to find something to wear. It was the first time in two weeks I had a day off from work. It was also a day Quan & I planned to do something together.

Hopping out of the shower, I chose to wear a grey maxi skirt with a split on a side, a black cropped tank, & my black sandals. Looking at myself in the long mirror on my wall, I thought I looked damn good, even though I kept it pretty simple.

Pulling up to Quan's house, I see his sister, Tasha. I don't like her and I think she doesn't like me. Honestly, I don't really like any of Quan's family members except his grandma. "Hey girl!" Tasha spoke. I hated when she spoke to me in that fake-ass-hey-girl tone. I gave her a half of a wave and spoke blandly "hey". When I turned around, I saw Quan. Practically running me over, he sung aloud "there goes my babyyyyy!" I smiled and rolled my eyes, "you. sound. HORRIBLE",

"girl shut up & give daddy some love". Giving Quan a hug & a kiss was like a relief. I haven't seen him in a week & I missed him a lot.

still cheesing from ear to ear I told Quan "you such a perv!"

"How?" he smirked.

I mocked him "give daddy some love, like ew".

Surprisingly, Quan was already ready. He usually would take forever to get ready. I swear he had female tendencies.

Driving to the movies, I wasn't sure of what movie we were going to see

"baby, we going to see Think Like A Man Too?"

"ion wanna see that, ion like that nigga Kevin Hart. He ain't even funny fr" While laughing I replied "you just mad cuz you ain't nearly funny as him". Quan poked me on my side "shut up, ian mad"

"okay whatever, we still going to see it!"

He clenched his jaws & sighed "aite, whatever you wanna do." The ride to the movie theatre was all laughs & jokes.

Quan proceeded to buy our tickets for the 5:35 movie. I looked at my phone for the time, it was 5:20. I waited in line for popcorn & candy.

After watching the movie, Quan & I agreed to go out to eat since we both were hungry. I wasn't up for anything real fancy, so we just went to Applebee's across the street.

"what you gettin'?" Quan asked. He had his eyes still locked on the menu.

"I don't know yet, you know I only eat pasta & chicken." Any restaurant I go to, I always get the same, pasta & chicken. I couldn't settle for anything new so I just went with the same ole, same ole. Our waitress came over. She was a pretty petite girl with a short styled cut.

"are you guys ready to order?" I caught her looking at Quan in a flirtatious way. My blood started to boil, but I didn't say anything. I wasn't a confrontational person. I just waited until she left to say something to Quan.

"looks like pretty lil waitress want you"

"come on bae, why you always at a bitch neck just for looking my way?"

"oh, so you're taking up for her?" I calmly asked in a smart manor.

Quan sighed "look, I'm not--"

"you must think she's cute"

"there you go cuttin' me off, stop doin' dat shit mane" He scowled through clenched jaws. Quan hated when I interrupted him while he was talking. He would get real mad to a point he'd raise his hand as if he was gonna hit me.

"okay, you know what, just forget this whole conversation" I said. Neither one of us parted our lips for the rest of dinner. When we finally finished eating the waitress came over & gave us the bill still making googily eyes with Quan.

"wow." I said aloud. where was this bitch's morals? he's having dinner with his girl for fucks sake.

Quan flew his head back looking up to ceiling. "what!"

"nothing, just give her the money so we could leave."

"ah shit Erie, I'm payin'? I thought you was payin'?"

I sighed loudly. I often paid when we went out. I didn't have a problem with it until it started happening majority of the time.

"really Quan? you seriously need a job! I'm always the one paying for our outings, don't no bitch want a man that can't pay for shit half the time!" Quan bit the inside of his lip looking upset & hurt. I rumbled through my large purse pulling out thirty dollars. I slapped the money down on the bill book in front of him & stormed out the restaurant. Seconds later I see Quan coming towards the car rubbing his fresh waves. Looking at Quan from the car made me quiver. My baby was fine. He wasn't flashy & a show off like most niggas. He had soft-looking brown skin, a short regular cut with waves, & his body frame was just right for me, he wasn't too chubby nor was he too skinny. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was his height. Quan was tall, but he wasn't as tall as I liked them. Me & him were pretty much eye to eye, or maybe he was an inch taller than me. Even though I was fantasizing about him, I still had an attitude with him.

Quan got in the car staring blankly over the dashboard. He still had that look of hurt in his eyes. I didn't mean any harm, I was just telling the truth.
