The window in front of us stretches and deforms, giving us a view of the planet as we zoom toward the ground impossibly fast. We break through the cloud cover and continue to pick up speed. A tiny figure is standing in the path of the ship. Poseidon.
"Posiedon's magick is overflowing, but it's unstable. Amihan is going to ram him!" yells Eve. She kisses me. "If this is it, just know I'm sorry for torching your condo...it wasn't my idea. Also, I love you."
"I should have guessed." I kiss Eve again, knowing it may be for the last time. The ship rocks and continues to destabilize. "I love you too," I tell her, putting my hands on the scroll. Huge orange feathers continue tearing through the walls.
I swear I can see the whites of Poseidon's eyes. He looks surprised.
"NOW!" yells Eve.
I tear the scroll in half with a scream.
