Precap :
Dad : "We have decided to send you abroad for further studies".
Me : "Whaaat??!! You are kidding, right??"( Of course, he is kidding....i mean why would they send their only son away)
Dad : "Unfortunately not" !!
Me : "Wait, whaat"??
----------------------------------------------------
Dad : "Beta, this decision we made is for your own good. You will learn how to live independently".
(Note : In Hindi beta means son )
Me : " I have never said that I would continue my studies after graduation. Studying commerce for three years was a hell to me ". (My dad is gonna be mad now)
Dad : " Then what exactly are your plans??"
Me : ".....I want to become a chef and...... own a bakery shop ". ( I am a fan of Master chef India ...and the way they decorate plates and cakes was very attractive and I wanted to own a bakery since then)
Dad : "Why would a son of an CEO want to become pastry maker? Is this a kind of bad joke? you have my whole business in palm of your hands still you want to become a mere baker" ( I must say guys this is typical Indian thinking)
" You are going to study masters in business accounts to become an entrepreneur and take my postion one day and thats final do you hear me " Ayaan father Concluded proudly without giving Ayaan to voice out his thoughts.
Me : "Mom will never accept this, will she??" Mo....mmmm ( I started whining)
Mom : " It is very difficult for me too beta but your father has already decided. You dont need to worry because my close friend's daughter studies there as well." ( That is Rachel my mom is talking about. Rachel's mom and my mom are friends. She married an American businessman and settled there. )
After that I came up with crazy reasons to stop them from sending me away like "What if I become a victim of a racist?" What if world ends soon and we die separately?" Blah blah blah......None of them really worked out. So I started crying the whole day. I still remember the conversation of my parents after I locked myself in the room...
Dad : "Look! This is all because of you. You pampered and treated him like a girl. Now he is crying at the thought of living alone."
Mom : "....." ( Sobbing)
That's how I landed in this day and night busy New York city. I never actually joined in business school thanks to Rachel( that was the courageous thing that I have ever done in my life anyway). She is not a girl who would listen to parents either, so she helped me to take chef's training. I saved all the money that my father used to send for my school. For two years I worked in bakery for part time and learned several things.
The money that I have saved was not enough to open a bakery shop at the area where big companies were established. I thought it would be a best place to open a bakery as working people won't have time to make their own break fast in the morning and eventually end up in bakeries.( I don't know when I started thinking wisely ). So, Rachel help me economically by burrowing money from her mother and rest from bank as a loa . She is one year older than me and is really a good help. That's how we became partners in work.
(🎵phone ringing 🎵)
"Hello!", I answered.
"Where the hell are you??"Rachel nagged.(oops I am late again)
" Sorry! I will be in ten minutes",I ended the call.
