The bell rang throughout the quiet hallways and students started rushing out of their classrooms, thanking God that it's lunch time. El walked out of the small classroom, soon being joined by Mike and the rest of the party.
"Hello, beautiful!" Mike said kissing her cheek, making her blush like crazy. A smile crept over El's face, and she looked at her handsome boyfriend in admiration.
"I'll be right back, I have to wash my hands before eating." El said, walking in the direction of the bathroom.
Mike looked over at Max, waiting for her to follow El. Max and El became friends shortly after El returned home. They were the only two girls in the party, so they knew they had to be there for each other. They've been inseparable ever since. Max pouted for a second before Mike's gaze hardened and she eventually caved.
"Fine!" Max retorted.
She followed El loosely, wanting her to feel more independent. Max peeked around the corner seeing Troy Harrington corner El.
"Get off of me you mouth breather!" El shouted as Troy just smirked and leaned in closer. Max started to panic, watching her friend struggle against his grasp.
"You know, you're cute when you're angry." El just rolled her eyes. Just as Max was about to jump on Troy, he slung back into the lockers, leaving a dent. El walked over to him, Max still in shock.
"Oops!" El said with an evil chuckle, wiping the blood from her nose, as she walked towards the bathroom again. Max quickly backed away and ran to the group.
"Max where's El?"
"Troy...lockers...dent...El..." Max managed to choke out between huffs of breath; it didn't help that she was still in a bit of shock.
"Wha-" Mike was cut off by El walking up to the group with a huge smile.
"Hey guys. You ready?" Mike smiled and grabbed her hand.
"Yep!" They walked to the cafeteria and sat down. Max was still in a bit of shock, so she stayed quiet.
"Oh shoot! I think I left my books in the bathroom. I'm going to grab them real quick." El got up from the table and once again Mike stared at Max, waiting for her to get up. After she didn't move, Mike spoke up.
"Well? Aren't you going to follow her?" Max just smiled to herself, recollecting the events from earlier.
"Nah. I think she's got it."
