I was laid in bed, the morning after the party. I woke up to a text from Meg. [Thanks for yesterday. Back one day, and you've made me realise I was wrong with AJ;) Love ya!xx] I laughed. I always did seem to play cupid. [awh, its okay Meg!:') Love ya 2,xx] I decided I'd text Ast. I picked up the number he gave me yesterday, adding it into my phone. [You awake? Wanna meet later?x] [Yeah, I'll call for you in about half an hour?Axx] [Alright,xx]

I got up, showered, dressed, and was sat doing my makeup. Just light makeup, with empathises on my eyes. The doorbell rang. I was running late, as usual. I ran downstairs, answering the door, knowing who it was.

"Hey" I smiled, opening the door.

"Alright babe." Ast replied, smiling, his eyes lighting up.

"You're gonna have to come in, I'm not finished getting ready yet." I replied, letting him into my bedroom.

"Fine by me." Ast spoke, walking through the door. "Your room is exactly as I remembered it." Ast spoke, looking around the room.

"Well I haven't been here to change it!" I laughed, sitting on the floor by my mirror carrying on with my makeup. We were sat silently for over two minutes. I could feel Ast thinking, before blurting out a question.

"Why do you wear makeup?" He asked, staring at my reflection.

"Because I look like a troll without it." I laughed, wondering where his question came from.

"No, you don't." He replied, sincerely. I turned to face him, looking into his eyes, which returned the look.

"How would you know?" I asked, gazing into his eyes.

"We did have sleepovers when we were younger." Ast replied, sitting next to me.

"That was years ago. Mother Nature paid me a visit and BAM." I giggled, turning back to the mirror.

"Mother Nature did you a favour then! Your much..." Ast stopped himself. I looked at him, waiting for him to finish.

"Much what?" I asked, looking at him through the mirrors reflection.

"Much more sexy!" Ast joked, laughing. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"No. No I'm not." I replied, going back to my makeup so I didn't have to look at him directly.

"Yes you are." Ast replied, still laughing. "You ready yet?" Ast smiled, returning to his usual self. Where that conversation had come from, I'll never understand.

"Yep. Lets go." I replied, jumping up, glad that conversation was over.

We walked to the park, sitting behind the tree we used to meet behind before going to the park. The tree looked out over a clear blue lake, an island situated in the middle of it. The sun was shining as we sat down, the shade of the tree refreshing.

"So, how've you been?" Ast asked, leaning his back against the tree.

"I've been good." I replied. "You?"

"Yeah, good. What about school?" Ast asked again. He always had been interested in what I was doing.

"It's great. Well was. I'm gonna miss it." I replied.

"Yeah, I know the feeling. I don't know what I'm doing next." Ast spoke, starting to pick grass from the floor.

"Mine isn't really a hard decision."

"Why?" Ast turned, looking up at me.

"Well, to make the whole of four years at dance school worth it, I need to go to Dance Collage to make sure I can get a career in it."

"What? You mean you're leaving again? I thought you were back now." Ast replied, hurt in his eyes.

"Well, yeah. I'm going to have to leave anyway, to go to uni or collage. I'm never gonna forget my best friend!" I laughed.

"Yeah." Ast laughed.

"So, you had any secret girlfriends while I've been away?" I laughed, poking him.

"They wouldn't be secret if I told you." Ast replied, poking me back. "What about you? C'mon spill!"

"Boyfriend? At dance school? They're either gay, or taken!" I laughed. I was never telling anyone here about any boyfriend I'd had. The only people who knew about my boyfriends at dance school were them, and my friends there. In four years, I'd had three boyfriends. None gay, or turned out to be. In fact, I only knew of two gay boys, and you have that many at a normal school.

"You never answered me!" I laughed. "You have haven't you! Asty Pasty's got a girlfriend!" I smiled, using his nickname that he hated from childhood.

"I haven't got a girlfriend!" Ast replied. "And don't use that! I thought we'd made a truce with embarasing nicknames! Or I'll have to use yours." Ast laughed, pushing me onto the grass.

"Ooh, okay then. Does this mean you had a girlfriend?" I giggled, pulling him down with me.

"Maybe..." Ast smiled. "But no one knows. So your not going to tell anyone." Ast smiled.

"Awh! Asty... Aston is all grown up!" I joked, stopping myself from using his nickname. "What was her name?" I prodded.

"Erh. Why are you so nosy?" Ast moaned.

"'Cos I'm your best mate, so need to know!" I replied, putting my bottom lip out.

"Jess." Ast spoke.

"Awh, Jess! Aston and Jess!" I laughed, sitting up. Aston followed, leaning back against the tree.

"Shut up!" Ast winked. This was my best friend. Someone I could joke with, and laugh with.

My phone buzzed. [Partaaaay tonight? My house? 6ish! Meg,xx] I looked up at Ast, who seemed to have the same message.

"Well, we better get back then to get ready!" I laughed, looking at Ast.

"I suppose we had! I'll walk up with you later?" Ast asked. We often walked to parties and things together, as we lived next door to each other.

"Yeah, call for me about ten to six? I don't wanna be first there!" I laughed.

"Alright." We walked home, before I looked at the time. I had an hour and half. If only Georgie and Soph could make it. I smiled, jumping in the shower again, before choosing what to wear. I needed something summery, as the weather was really sunny and warm. The sun was still out, at half four. I found a short dress, with ruffles at the bottom, adding skin tights and heels. I curled my hair, gripping it on one side, before sorting my makeup out again. I was excited. An ordinary house party with my old friends.
