I woke up to Scar's tail wagging by my side, and sat up petting him. "Good morning Scar, there's no school today. Want to take a walk?" I got up as did he, grabbed some clothes and went to the bathroom to freshen up. I put on ripped black jeans, with a red and black stripped sweater, and black heeled boots and grabbed Scar's leash after placing my small black hat on my head. I walked down the stairs with Scar following eagerly, connecting the leash to his color right before walking out the door.
The day wasn't so bright, not that it bothered me anyways, I never complain about gloomy cloudy days. I walked by the woods with Scar a bit ahead of me when I heard another whisper, "Little Madeline, he's close by.." It was the same voice I heard last night. I stopped in my tracks as well as Scar as he started growling low under his breath.
There was the snap of a twig nearby, and out of the woods I saw Damani once again, holding an empty bottle. He stumbled and as soon as he saw me, he stopped and leaned against the tree, "You! You did this!" He slurred his words, pointing at his bruised up neck. Scar barked up at him, standing protectively in front of me. "Shut your mutt up!" He yelled at Scar, who got angrier. I shushed him softly as he listened, but refused to leave from where he stood. "But you, you'll get what you deserve." He slammed his bottle into the tree, breaking it and aimed at me. "Young Madeline," the voice sang in my ear, "You know what you should do, end this."
I felt my eye twitch, and when he started running towards me, my vision went black and white with only his figure in red. He swung the bottle as I dodged staying in place, grabbing his wrist and twisted it until he dropped the bottle. I slammed a fist into his chest and head butted him. His drunk self fell onto the floor, fortunately ended up hitting his leg with his own weapon. Some shards of the glass went in on his ankle as I looked down on him, and stepped onto his ankle until I heard many cracks. He yelped in pain as I kept stepping onto it until it seemed fully disfigured. I leaned down, sitting on his chest, starting to feel a weird sensation on my left hand.
I noticed I had a glove on, similar to Freddy Krueger's hand, with sharp knives sticking out. I smiled a dark crooked grin, looking down at Damani. "P-Please...please Maddy. D-Don't." He started saying, sweat dripping from his forehead. I chuckled, as I caressed the knife softly on his face, "Don't kill me. This isn't you. You wouldn't kill anyone." I just ignored his words, tracing the knives down his jaw and neck, tracing his chest.
"How would you know? After all, I'm just a little freak to you aren't I?" I whispered, I stopped tracing his chest once I reached the center. "Stop it! Don't do this!" He yelled. I glared at him, and raised my hand up and slashed at both his hands, blood splashing onto my clothes and onto his face as he screamed in pain. I dragged my knives down his arm, smiling as it carved into his skin and meat as he only cried out in pain. "Silly, silly, little boy. You will now be my new toy." I giggled softly, as he cried, tears mixing in with the blood on his face. "I'm sorry Madeline! I'm sorry, please let me live!" He begged in agony. I gently tapped my knives onto the center of his chest, "But where would be the fun in that?"
I sunk in the knives, creating a hole in his chest and stuck in my hand, as he gasped and coughed up blood. I smiled widely, seeing nothing but blood. I raised my hand slowly out of his chest as I held what I wanted in front of his fading eyes. His heart slowly pumping in my hand as I fully pulled it out of his chest, along with his dying breath.
I looked in front of me and saw Scar, and the mysterious lady standing next to him, "Well done, young Madeline. You finally accepted your destiny. Welcome home." She held out her hand as she patted Scar's head. I grabbed it with my right hand, standing up now over Damani's bloody corpse. As I gained my regular vision back, I noticed the necklace around my neck started glowing a dark red, "The garnet stone shines as you complete a task, and it seems you have. Keep the heart, it's your trophy." She smiled as she looked at me. I looked at the now still bloody heart in my hand, and then back to the woman and my dog. Scar stayed so calm through all of this, I'm surprised.
"Don't worry about Scar, I put him in a trance so he doesn't alert anyone. Now, let's get you back home." She held my hand and told me to close my eyes. "Open them now sweetie." I wasn't in my room as I hoped when I opened my eyes. Instead it was a large master room, with dark walls, a large vintage looking bed, a vanity, and dim lighting.
Across from the bed was a large bookcase, a desk beside it and a door, I'm assuming was the closet. By the bed, was another room, seemingly a bathroom. "This is your new room, well, yours and Scar's. You're finally home Madeline." The woman smiled at me. "What about my stuff at home?" I asked quietly. "Already here, while you were out, it had been brought over here." I nodded as I noticed two bags full, and my notebook on the desk along with my computer. "Who are you?" I asked her as I looked back at her.
"My name is Evelyn, you'll learn more about me when the time comes." She grinned as she walked out of the room. Scar hopped onto the bed and laid down. I petted his fur and grabbed some clothes, walking into the bathroom to shower.
After cleaning myself under hot water, I got dressed in my black sweats and red t shirt. I felt so drained and tired. I got into the warm bed and closed my eyes. Before I noticed, I was out.
