As we walked out of Evelyn's study, Scar was rubbing his head against my leg - it's his way of saying he's hungry. I nodded and walked down a hall, turning the corner leading myself into what seemed to be the living room. It didn't look so bad, it was kind of nice as the black and white contrasted each other under the large silver like chandelier. Walking further into the room, I noticed another door on the other side of the room, guessing to be the entrance of the kitchen.

Opening the door softly, another girl stood over the stove, humming to herself. She was dressed similar to Evelyn, as she wore a red and black laced corset with a broken, ruffled, black skirt with torn fishnets and broken boots. Long dark brown hair covered her back slightly as small horns seem to pry out of her skull, showing slightly through her hair.

She stopped humming and stood up, I'm guessing she noticed my presence as quiet as I was. She turned around - bright, red eyes staring at me through her fringe, black lips turned upwards as she smiled softly, exposing her sharp teeth, and her neck was layered on with chains, as well as her wrists as she held a pan. "You must be the new arrival, Madeline, correct?" she said, placing the pan down on the island in front of her, "Lamia, pleased to meet you." She sat at the island, serving herself what she had made...it seemed to be small sized organs and the 'sauce' seemed to be blood.

"Would you like some, there's plenty I could make - well, unless you like the blood of innocence." she said, as she bit into her food, licking off the remaining blood off the fork. "My name suits me for my hunger, it's best you know now other than walking in on me feeding. I eat the meat and drink the blood of children, their innocence is the only thing that satisfies my need." She said as she finished off the remaining pieces on her plate.

I nodded, "Understood, I prefer the souls of the tainted ones." I said as I petted Scar's head, "There's some regular meat inside the container for your dog, if he'd like," Lamia said, pointing out the freezer at the corner. I walked over to it and opened it up, seeing tons of meat packages inside. I grabbed a package, opening it up, and fed a steak to Scar as he started devouring it.

Soon after we went back to the living room, as I was speaking with Lamia for a while as Scar rested his head on my lap, Heathen came into the room with us and sat down next to Scar. "Hello cousin, how was your day?" Lamia said as she looked over at a groaning Heathen, who had thrown his head back with his hands covering his face, "I'm so tired, and hungry again, yet mother said I can't go out again until tonight." He said as he starting petting an asleep Scar. "Oh that's right, hunting is only twice a day, once at dawn, and again at dusk Madeline. It's safer that way, much easier avoiding any pests outside." Lamia told me as I looked over at Heathen.

"Well in the meantime, would you want to go do something?" I asked him softly. He nodded and got up, gesturing for Scar and I to go follow after him. We walked out of the room, waving bye to Lamia and continued walking until we reached a door, leading outside into a forest.

We kept going until we found a clear path, where some lonely flowers grew and some bloomed. Heathen laid down on a fallen tree as Scar and I sat down on the ground, Scar laying his head on my lap as I petted his head. "The last time I was out in the woods...was actually the last day I saw you, when we were children. It feels weird being back out here..." Heathen whispered as he let out a soft sigh, looking up above the trees, as I stayed quiet for a while. "I missed being out here with you Madeline," he said softly, as I looked up to him and whispered, "It always felt weird walking through the woods by myself, as if something was missing...I knew it had to be you being the reason..." I whispered. He patted my head softly, and once he pulled his hand back, I laid down on the ground, staring up at the sky until I felt myself feeling tired.

My eyes started closing softly, as the blue sky became the last thing I saw before falling asleep.
