The Star-child of Mars : The Stardust Curse (Updated version)

Chapter 11

It had been a few hours since their miraculous escape from  the compound, Richard was found and had suffered no lasting effects from being drug. Thomas had giving him a few weeks off to fully recover. They had arrived back at the Newton household, The Anthean was still a little shaken up by the events but was still rather confused to how his dear friend was suddenly alive. 

"Why did you risk your life to save us?" 

" Tommy.. your my dearest friend I couldn't stand by leave you behind to die, after everything you did for me back in the old days. " Ziggy smiled. 

Thomas sighed as he poured himself a stiff drink.  "My life wasn't worth saving Ziggy, your little Zee's yes they have they whole life, I don't I'm stuck here on the god forsaking planet cursed."

The elder Martian placed a comforting hand upon the Anthean's shoulder. "Yes you do, You have me and Zee and the spiders... Thomas you have family right in front of you, never forget that."

"Thank you my friend." Zee came skipping into the lounge with a cheery smile. "Well Looks like your plan worked Dad." Zee said switching on the TV.

It was a live news conference Dr Bryce sat looking out at all the worlds media looking rather confused and bewildered not knowing the answer to the overwhelming questions that were getting thrown at him.

"Look like our secret is safe." The two elder aliens nodded in agreement. 

But there was still one thing that was niggling away at Zee from the moment they saw their father. 

"Say Dad how did you bounce back to life?, I mean Thomas was working on way to regenerate your element. So explain how you got it back?"

Ziggy chuckled he knew he was going to have to explain to Zee and Thomas at some point."well you could say it was thanks to you my star child".

"Me? What do you mean?" 

Ziggy smiled as he sat next to Zee placing his arm around them. "Never forget the strong bond between parent and child."

The young Martian was still baffled. "I still don't understand, what's our bond got to do with it?"

"I do...." Thomas interrupted. "It all make sense now..... Zee remember when you father gave up his element".

"Yeah".

"Zee the strong bond you and your father share awakened, his element was deep within you and the times when you went to visit him while you were here, the element found is way back to is original host."

Zee was very much taking back by all this, then another thing popped up in their mind the nightmares that they had been suffering since that fateful day.  "and all those nightmare I had also were they part of it too?"

Thomas nodded, "Yes.... having your father's element meant you shared those memories of his own demise."

"Now my element has returned, You won't be suffering those dreams again." Zee smiled brightly and hugged the elder Martian tightly. "I'm just happy to have you back."

"I'm glad to be back Zee." Ziggy replied. As they hugged Both circles began glowing brightly on their foreheads a symbol of the strong paternal/child bond.

Thomas smiled at the sight before him. The Stardust were finally reunited and nothing was going to tear them apart again.
