I quickly shove my phone into my sweatshirt pocket, pretending to do my work as Ms. Dickenson walked by my table. She peeked at my paper, and walked away, seeming content with the amount I had done. I pull my phone out again to keep texting Ashton once I see her go back to her desk.

"Luke, put your phone away," I flinch and look up to see my history teacher frowning at me. I sheepishly smile at her and lock my phone, setting it in my lap. My cheeks burn red as a few students snicker at me, Michael included. I sneakily flip him off and continue my work.
...Which is really, really boring, so I only work on it for five minutes before picking up my phone again.
