I just want to let you know, I'm rewriting this story in another book but I won't publish it until I'm up to date. This is the first chapter rewritten so much better. It has an added 1799 words. I hope you read it because some details have changed for example, Nathan is tritons son instead of Poseidon's because I just couldn't get the idea to fit into the original story that rick wrote.

I had thought everyone knew that I never wanted to be the prophecy child. I'd never wanted attention, especially if it brought this much heartbreak and trauma, which it did along with a lot of great memories with 'friends'. But I'd known everyone knew I couldn't stand to be alone or isolated, it was part of my flaw after all.
Day in day out, I had locked myself in my cabin feeling sorry for myself, after The Second Giant War, so much had happened.
My mum and Paul had died in a fire. I remember Chiron hesitantly calling me into the Bighouse to tell me the heart shattering news.
It was the moment I had sparked fear and doubt in everyone's hearts. I was so angry at the world, I had unwillingly caused waves taller than the big house to crash down on the camp. I had caused the ground to shake so vigorously that I had uprooted half a forest of dryad trees. I was inconsolable, I couldn't stop it it. I ended up having to knock myself out just to end my own violent fit.Thalia was away with the hunt and Nico was with his father in the under world. I couldn't blame them, they had responsibilities. Thalia was the most opinionated person I'd known. She never let rumours sway her away from me. "Seeing is believing" she had said.
Nico had more freedom to visit me than Thalia did, but it was still an uncommon occasion.
I had never felt more alone.I'd been doing my best to hide it but I was missing being on quests and saving the world. It's what I'd lived for.
In that moment, Nico had burst through my door, practically breaking the hinges.
"Get up!""What? What's happened?" I hoarsely spoke, getting up from the bed, automatically grabbing riptide.
"You're not going to sulk anymore" he had yelled pointing a stern finger at me. After finding out there was no emergency, I flopped back onto my bed and covered my face with my hands.
"I knew Percy Jackson. He was a Hero and everyone loved him. With the typical Class Clown humour, the brightest smile and glowing eyes!"
Nico started pacing the room, I could hear the heavy combat boots hitting the floor. "He taught sword fighting and canoeing. Everyone looked up to him and he looked out for everyone." Nico had been breathless like saying that had exhausted him."I know!" I'd sat up quickly. "I know how my life used to be!" I had Made sure to emphasise that it was my life. "I know okay? I know I've fallen far"
"Do something about it. You say you wouldn't give up on your loved ones, but you've given up on yourself." In that moment, he locked eyes with me, something he'd never ever done. "Find a new purpose." He had whispered the last line, like he was scared I'd actually take his advice, and then he shadow traveled away
His words were all I'd thought about. I couldn't stay in camp half blood, it'd felt like a hotel I was only staying at out of convenience. I wasn't needed there anyone. Nico had said the words I had needed to hear.
" I'm leaving. I'm going to find a new purpose." I had repeated to myself as I dragged myself up. The man in the mirror had looked nothing like me. My hair was longer and the stubble was rugged. I had bags under my eyes revealing the sleepless nights.
"I'm leaving. I'm going to find a new purpose." I had watched as my eyes lit up ever-so slightly and my lips twitched at the words. I showered and changed, the water made me feel alive again. My puffy eyes became less red and my hair was slightly more manageable. I looked better than I had in months.
