The days flew by. Vir-Vir suggested that I should practice a bit before the tournament, so I went to the arcade a lot and listened to nearly every tip Agna and Lyn could give me. As the day of the tournament was getting closer and closer, I felt more and more nervous. Nearly only two weeks before the uprising and the images of war kept appearing in my dreams. Will my friends die? Will they suffer? Will we win? There were many things troubling me. The night before the tournament, I couldn't sleep at all. I kept strolling around my apartment, thinking about the future. I was curious to know how will it all possibly end up, but too scared to look to the future.

Virion: "Is something bothering you?"

I nearly jumped out of my skin. How often does a young elf appear right behind you, in your apartment in the middle of the night? Far too often for me.

Tabitha: "Why do you always keep appearing behind me?"

Virion: "Shock from unexpected words is smaller than shock from an unexpected appearance of a person. If I was to appear in front of you, you'd get much more scared."

I was too stressed and tired for his lecturing.

Tabitha: "You always think about stuff this much?"

Virion: "Hmm... I guess so. I enjoy thinking."

Tabitha: "What are you even doing here so late? And where do you keep on disappearing to?"

Virion: "You might have forgotten, but I too am a student of Cinder and have school to attend to. Although you are trying to help me as much as it's necessary, not all teachers share your wisdom."

Tabitha: "How am I helping you? I haven't been in your timeline and I never looked that far into the future."

Virion: "You are the headmaster of Cinder. I mentioned that when we first met, remember?"

Tabitha: "Oh yeah, I recall something like that. Sooo... what is me from the future like?"

Virion: "Kind, cheerful. You, basically. You haven't really changed in those 800 years."

I felt like I heard wrong

Tabitha: "800 YEARS???"

Virion: "Yes, your magic and your high affinity towards it causes you to age slowly. And you definitely haven't reached your maximum age yet."

That made me feel happy until I realized the horrible truth. I had to ask him.

Tabitha: "...Vir-Vir?"

He looked at me with a curious expression.
