Chapter 1

Chief Executive Officer Jennie Kim entered the building and was welcomed by staff members and others. She simply nodded and moved in the direction of her office as they bowed to her ninety degrees. She seems off today-almost every day. They had many guests in many nations; at the moment, her father is in charge of one of them in Los Angeles.

"Come to my office immediately, Reign." Jennie used her work phone to call her assistant.

She hears a knock on her door as she is going over some files. "Come in."

"Miss Kim," Her assistant bowed in her direction.

"Please take the folder over there and put it in the correct sequence. Once you're done, you can leave it here on my table. You can leave."

She stated, keeping her focus on the paperwork. Before leaving, her assistant picked up the folder she was pointing to and bowed.

She checked the files for an hour, and when her father called, she picked up the phone, "Hey, dad, what made you call? I'm kind of busy because I still have a lot of stuff to do."

"Jennie, my daughter, remember to take breaks and not overwork yourself." Mr. Kim informed her. She sighed.

"I know, dad, but if I don't get through all of these, I can't relax." She groaned.

"Alright, sweetie, don't work too hard just take care of yourself. Nevertheless, I wanted to give you a heads-up that I sent you an email, please check it out. I have to go right now since I still have to see Mr. Manoban." Mr. Kim bids.

"Take care dad." She let out another sigh, then leaned back in the swivel chair as they hung up. She placed her arms on either side of her chair as her gaze fixed on the ceiling. She felt so stressed these days.

After finishing her work files, she checked her watch and saw that it was almost 11:30. She then picked up her phone and made a call to her cousin.

"Jennie my dumpling, did you miss me???" She turned her phone away from her ears as she heard her cousin's voice.

"Fuck Jisoo can you lower down your voice?" She spoke in an agitated manner.

"Sorry Jendeuk hihi. By the way, please stop by my restaurant so I may serve you your fave dishes. I've created some new recipes." Jisoo chuckled as she spoke.

"As you should. I'll be there in a minute, bye." Jennie hung up.

As she was pulling her car into the parking lot, she spotted a medium-sized unicorn stuff toy. She got out of her car to pick it up and saw the name "Lili" written on its stomach.

"Perhaps a child dropped it off without realising." She muttered under her breath as she put the stuff toy inside her car.

When she eventually noticed her, she moved in her cousin's direction and pinched her ear.

"Ah aw! Jendeukie stop!" Jisoo continued to slap Jennie's hand off her ear, wincing in agony.

"You get that for yelling at me on the phone." Jennie said, arching her brow.

"I told you i was sorry. As you know, I was just thrilled to see you because I knew you were busy these days." She continued to stroke her ear as she explained. Jennie sat down, shrugging.

"Now where's my treat?" Jennie asked.

"Wait until tomorrow"

"What?!"

"I'm kidding, you should just look at your face." Jisoo said, holding back her laughter.

"Whatever" as she rolled her eyes.

They began to eat as they engaged in sporadic conversation.

"I spoke with rosé last night, and she informed me that she couldn't join us tomorrow because she needed to tend to her cousin, who had a fever." Jisoo rambled devouring her Jajangmyeon.

"If I hadn't known any better, I would have assumed she was now babysitting" added with a joke.

Jennie gave Jisoo a small bend of her head. "Does she have another cousin?"

Jisoo hummed, "According to rosé, she had just moved from Los Angeles last week."
