I let out the biggest scream, and it sounded as though I was being murdered. I hoped the neighbours weren't home.
Finally going into a hallway, I threw my shoes off. And stared at my feet, covered in white socks. They weren't white anymore, as I have worn the same pair for a few days, because I was too lazy to do laundry. I sat down on the bench, motionless, my eyes hurting from crying so hard. I finally stood up, more tears coming down my already tear-stained face, and went to the kitchen.
Present time———

"Elle?"

I woke up out of my daze, realizing my parents were trying to have a conversation with me.

We had pulled into the driveway, much to my relief, because although all of this shit was happening, I still had school tomorrow. And the next. Which means that I have homework to do, and a million of assignments to complete. I instantly went up to my room, much to my parents dismay, they still respected my privacy because I was going to be an adult soon. 17 is the weirdest age someone could be. You are old enough to drive, work, and go out on your own, but that's it. School is almost done, and you have millions of college applications, orientations and courses to do.

I had been looking at this one university, George Barr University, which had a great music program. I was offered a scholarship at another school, but being so passionate about joining George Barr that I declined it. I've sent in my application three days ago, so I'm hoping for the best. Right now, I'm so tired I crashed on to my bed and passed out of literal exhaustion.

With Elle asleep, I come out to play. It's so fun, messing with her mind until she breaks down into tears, cursing and screaming which makes her looked possessed. Which she is, obviously. What do you think I am?

I woke up so groggy, and looked at my alarm clock on my nightstand. 6:30 pm. I've sleep for 4 hours. Jesus. I have to still finish my homework. I don't bother even thinking about eating because my attention is dragged to a photo on my dresser. There's four people, a male, female, and two girls. The two girls look identical, both with the biggest grins hugging each other, staring at the camera. Their blond hair and bright blue eyes stood out, as they had their arms around each other; also sporting matching sun dresses. The parents are staring as well, sweetly, as the photo is the best thing ever. I miss her, everyday. Evelyn was the other half to me, she was all I had. We were inseparable, she was the light of my life. If the world wasn't so cruel, she would still be here. I put the photo back, realizing how it's only been 10 months since she's passed.

It all started when our parents surprised us last summer, with a trip to a local theme park. It was tradition to go on labour day, so it was nothing out of the ordinary. We spent the whole day riding rollercoasters and stuffing our faces with junk, as a salute to the end of summer. As we were about to head out, my dad suggested to take a family photo. It had been a while he said, he wanted to get a recent one. Of course we all happily agreed. We then packed the car and headed off. It was dark, around 10:00 pm when it happened. We were at an intersection, about 20 minutes from home. Singing along to our favourite songs. Just like normal.

What wasn't normal was the car heading directly to the right side of our car, at full speed. We were hit with such force. The windows shattered around us and airbags popped into my face. I turned to look to se if everyone was ok. The glass in my skin stung and as I screamed in fear, terror and pain. I examined my body, only to see it covered in bruises and bashes. My mother was the least hurt, but it looked like she got some scratches. My dad was passed out at the wheel, probably in shock.

I turned to look at Evelyn. She was unresponsive, and turning pale. Her leg was crushed, and glass covered her. Blood covered her face, making look like she just walked out of a Stephen King book. Drivers  stopped and ran to our car, helping us out of the car, or what was left. Paramedics arrived shortly, caring my father and sister in separate stretchers. Her tee shirt saying "I love Wonder Park" that she just go that day, was soaked with red, washing out the white colour. She was still unresponsive.

Countless of hours later, Evelyn was pronounced dead. She died during surgery, and the doctors tried the best they could. I would return to school of my senior year, without my sidekick, my other half (literally and physically).  The funeral happened on the first weekend after school started. All my family came. I refused to go, because to see my sister's lifeless body caused me terror and pain. Ever since then; I have felt alone in this world.
