I had always played this part a million times in my head, that you'd say you love me as much as I do.
How come I don't have an answer now?
How come I don't know what to say?
How come I just stare?
A cold stare and I see the hope leaching out of you. You let out a low laugh, "I knew it," you say.
No you don't, you really don't.
"I've messed up everything, what's one more right?" You laugh. Everything's become so dark and bitter it's almost comical to you.
You get up and stare straight ahead,
and let out a long breathe, "I'm sorry for this."
You take one step forward and my legs finally give in.
I shoot straight up and my fingers clasp tightly around your wrist, "You idiot. You think you can just walk away?"
I don't know what made me, what made me brave enough.
Two of my hands come against your cheeks, tip toeing my lips meet yours and that's that.
