It was a month later, since Aubrey had been gone, and she still hadn't come back.No calls.
No texts.
No social media posts.
No anything.
Alana was beginning to worry.
what if something happened to her? She thought to herself.
She tried to keep as many negative thoughts out of her mind as possible, but as time passed by the negative started to completely take over and she was beginning to go crazy.
Something deep down inside told her that Aubrey would be fine and coming back soon, but her brain wouldn't allow her to think like that for more than 3 seconds without making up a whole scenario about how Aubrey could have possibly been hurt, and even killed.
August came up behind Alana as she stood staring out the huge windows that surrounded their entire living room.
He raised her hand and slowly brought it up to his face before kissing it.
Then he bent down and gently kissed her on the forehead, before grabbing her waist and bringing her closer to him.
She laid her head against his chest as they both stood there, and she continued to look out the window, down the driveway, hoping the random car would appear again and a perfectly fine and healthy Aubrey would appear.
But, sadly, nothing of the sort had happened in the past hour she had been looking out there.
August gently grabbed Alana's face and made her look away from the window and up to him.
"You're my everything," he told her.
She gave him a small smile as he kissed her lips.
"She'll be back. I know she will." he spoke again.
"I hope so August," She whispered as she turned her head back towards the window.
